Wednesday, October 26th, 2022: On November 25th, Las Vegas metallic riff-riders, SpiritWorld, will release their 2nd studio album, DEATHWESTERN, via Century Media Records.  Today, the band is proud to share their 3rd single, titled “Relic of Damnation” taken from the new album. Listen to the track HERETodd Hailstone, who already took care of the previous videos “DEATHWESTERN” and “The Bringer Of Light” (from ‘Pagan Rhythms’ 2021), now completes his apocalyptic vision of a death western world with this mesmerizing screening that will be sure to put you in the right mood for Halloween! Watch the video for “Relic Of Damnation” HERE or by clicking the image below.
Stu Folsom (mastermind of SpiritWorld) comments on the song and video as follows:
Download Single Artwork here“’Relic of Damnation’ has been my favorite riff on the record but was the biggest mfer to finish. I knew I had a classic that brings back that Metallica, Slayer vibe I love so much but I never liked the vocals and tried out three or four different rewrites after the demo. The very last night we worked on it, Theresa, Matt and I were fried and about to call it a night when I repurposed a verse from a country song I was writing and put it over the first verse. The vocals were done in one take and is my favorite vocal delivery on the album. I also love the vocals that trade off at the end between Justin Fornof and I. Relic is a banger and has been a staple of our live set since our first show! I’m so excited for people to finally have the studio recording!
The video is the finale of our DeathWestern trilogy with director Todd Hailstone. Being able to work with my longtime friend, going all the way back to being highschool punk rockers; has been incredible. He took my vision of gun smoke, gore and heavy metal and worked up three incredible videos. It was probably a little ambitious to do a film trilogy that spreads across two albums, but I think the performances Todd got from Derek and Voki to finish this bad boy off we’re amazing!”

After their successfull and first-ever appearance at Wacken Open Air Festival 2022, modern horror metal band MISTER MISERY have released the brand new single “Welcome Insanity” to coincide with their European tour. Listen here.

“Although Mister Misery is about letting go of reality, it felt important to us that this song be the first release after we got back to the stages,” states vocalist/guitarist Harley Vendetta. “It touches upon the darkness we all faced during the pandemic. All we want to do is to let this go and move on. This song defines our rise out of the lockdowns and we are so excited to present our most emotionally charged song to date.”

Finally granted a proper English translation, Amorphis: The Official Story of Finland’s Greatest Metal Band, expertly charts the group from their preteen/pre-Amorphis era to their rise as Finland’s most essential death metal band, through their bold integration of doom, folk and progressive rock on metallic milestones like Tales from the Thousand LakesElegy and Circle. Author Markus Laakso paints an engaging portrait of the rapid ascent, creative and commercial failures, and triumphant rebirth of Amorphis through in-depth interviews with every current and former member of the band, as well as their countless collaborators from throughout the group’s incorporable career. From their earliest days as part of the late ’80s/early ’90s underground tape-trading scene, through their current position as internationally lauded extreme metal icons, the members of Finland’s Amorphis comprise an essential chapter in the last three decades of heavy metal history.

Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group recording artist CONQUER DIVIDE — the international five-piece band hailing from the U.S., U.K., and Canada who have generated accolades from Octane, Revolver, Alternative Press, Modern Drummer, Loudwire, and more — have just shared the video for their new single “Paralyzed.” Watch it here.

This track will hit particularly close to home for anyone who listens to it, as it addresses something we’ve all dealt with — yet in a very unique way.

Guitarist Kristen Sturgis shares, “This song is about battling with mental illness and depression — especially during the pandemic — and feeling like you are too mentally paralyzed to move forward.”

She continues, revealing her deeply personal experience working as a nurse during COVID, saying, “I was in a dark place because, as some people may or may not know, I am a critical care nurse when I am not touring. I was traveling around the country to all these hot spots to help out with COVID, and I saw dozens of people lose their lives. And I still really have not fully processed it.”

Sturgis further explains, “But if you do not disconnect, you can’t do your job effectively. So, it is the kind of depression where you don’t feel anything at all, and you turn your emotions off. There was a point where they had psychologists visiting us on the unit to talk about our feelings. But it was like, ‘I don’t have time for this right now. I need to hang the next bag of x/y/z medication and keep this person alive. Get back to me in a year after this is all over.’ I think a lot of health care workers are also going to have PTSD or depression from what we went through. I hit a bit of writer’s block as a result of my mental state, and this song was a bit cathartic for me.”

As for Conquer Divide’s future plans, Sturgis offers this exciting update: “We’ve all grown so much since our first record. We did a lot of introspection and soul-searching about which creative direction to take the band in next, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. There will be something for everyone on our sophomore album.”

The band remains hard at work on new music with 2x Grammy-nominated producer Tyler Smyth (Falling in Reverse, I Prevail) and 4x RIAA-certified Gold record producer Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men).Conquer Divide also recently collaborated with Electric Callboy on the single “Fckboi.” Watch the video here. The song is already at over 10m streams worldwide, while their standalone track “Atonement” is at 2.5m streams worldwide.

LEATHERWOLFOut For Blood With ‘Kill The Hunted‘ Video And Digital Single

October 24, 2022 – Re-charged Orange County CA metal mavens LEATHERWOLF have released a video for the title track of their forthcoming new studio album, Kill The Hunted, set for release November 11 via N.I.L.8 and Rock of Angels in North America and Europe, respectively, November 14 through Hellion Records in South America, and November 17 on Rubicon Music in Japan. The video can be viewed on the band’s YouTube channel at:

LEATHERWOLF – ‘Kill The Hunted’ (official video) | N.I.L.8 Records (2022) – YouTube

Showcasing the band’s innate ability to create hard driving anthemic metal, Kill The Hunted was conceived in 2008 by drummer/producer, Dean Roberts, but not revisited and completed until some ten years later after the band fractured in the wake of a short European tour. “I starting writing the lyrics in 2018, prompted by what led to the split with our old singer. So the song is very personal to me but it could apply to anybody in a similar situation,” reflects Roberts. “The lyrics are really about self-discovery – discovery about all the negative stuff that was around me. And that I had to do something about it and make a change. The second verse, “I can feel the darkness that surrounds me / killing everything that I create / wasteland’s rule by death and the forsaken / bind and tie the blood that runs within” speaks to those feelings. In the final verse, the song conveys a more positive, self-empowering tone though. I gotta give props to Rob (Math) and Keith (Adamiak) who helped finish the song in the studio and helped me telling that story to myself. It really made me realize that I needed to move on.”

Kill The Hunted, which was mixed by legendary producer/engineer, Randy Burns (Megadeth, Kreator, Helstar) and mastered by Tom Baker (Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Pantera), introduces powerful new vocalist, Keith Adamiak, alongside long-time guitarist, Rob Math, young shredder Luke Man who first joined the fold in 2017 as a touring member, founding member, Dean Roberts, veteran bassist, Barry Sparks (MSG, Dokken, Yngwie Malmsteen), and guitarist/keyboardist, Wayne Findlay (MSG, Slavior, Vinnie Moore), to complete the vaunted Triple Axe Attack. The current LEATHERWOLF live line-up which had its baptism of fire earlier this year at the M3 Festival also features bassist Brice Snyder, on loan from OC thrashers Art of Shock.

The ‘Kill The Hunted’ single is now available on all major digital platforms and is the follow-up to ‘Hit the Dirt’ and ‘The Henchman’, the latter featuring a guest appearance by Whitesnake’s fleet-fingered axe wizard, Joel Hoekstra. Lyric videos for both can be found here:

October 24th, 2022 — Los Angeles, CA — Kihyun, of Monsta X, is taking off with his 2nd solo journey with the release of, KIHYUN 1st Mini Album YOUTH. Dropping 6 months after his solo debut of VOYAGER, and 7 years after his debut in Monsta XYOUTH is filled with songs stemming from personal stories and the things Kihyun wants to tell his own self. Kihyun expands “YOUTH is about my current perspective on my youth and my determination as a solo artist. The lyrics include the things I want to tell myself, both in the past and present. Even though this album is my personal story after 7 years as an artist, I think many people can relate to my emotions because everyone reflects on their youth at some point in time.” Youth is a transient world that everyone visits but cannot return to, making it a world that we all wish to visit again someday. In this album, Kihyun acts as an observer and storyteller as he asks, answers and discovers himself.

Following the success of his solo debut in March, which entered multiple Billboard charts and also scored the year’s largest opening first-week album sales for a K-pop male soloists so far [Forbes]; this album’s title track of the same name, “Youth,” vividly expresses Kihyun traveling back to the raw emotions that he felt when he was younger. An alternative track that features Kihyun’s refreshing vocals, “Youth” has present day Kihyun alternating between telling his younger self about his past emotions and his current resolutions. From imagination to reality, Kihyun unapologetically tells the range of emotions he feels while on the path to his destination. The song offers a new experience for listeners to empathize with as Kihyun expresses his confidence as a seasoned artist, now 7 years post debut, and his newness to being a solo artist.
“It is really meaningful that I can share my story to all my fans through my music. I hope you will fully enjoy all the songs and stories I’ve shared with you through this album! Thank you!” – Kihyun
Through the album’s 5 tracks, Kihyun shows off his diverse range as a vocalist and the variety of genres he can perform. “Bad Liar,” written, composed and arranged by Hyungwon, an active DJ and fellow member of Monsta X, artfully expresses the bad lies and conflicted heart of wanting to break up but also get back together. Another track by Monsta X’s Hyungwon and inspired by the movie Closer, “Where Is This Love” expresses a love that cannot be felt. “Stardust” shows off Kihyun’s dynamic vocal charm. The full English-language track, “Where Is This Love” showcases Kihyun’s raw emotions through his vocals and powerful lyrics. “Cause of You,” an easy listening pop number with a bright acoustic guitar, closes out the album with a surprise appearance from Monsta X’s Joohoney. The support of RYAN JHUN, Ea Na Kim, Hyungwon, BrotherSu, among many others, boost Kihyun’s confidence in releasing this album.

It’s a sci-fi cowboy western surfing extravaganza: Volatile, paranoid and vengeful.” — SPIRIT IN THE ROOM‘s Dennis Sanders
View SPIRIT IN THE ROOM’s “Venting” video HERE.

SPIRIT IN THE ROOM is pleased to unveil a video for the track “Venting.” Now playing at Ghost Cult, the hymn comes by way of the band’s Flamingo EP, recently released by Housecore Records.
If you ever wondered what goes on in the head of a film noir hitman, horror novel asylum inmate, or a golden age silver screen villain, it might sound something like SPIRIT IN THE ROOM. The vision of Louisiana-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dennis R. Sanders unfurls through cigarette smoke, cheap booze, and distortion like an anachronistic fever dream soundtracked by a collision of gothic vocal hues, immersive alternative architecture, and jarring metallic catharsis. It’s scary at times. It’s sad at other times. However, it’s always unpredictable— especially on SPIRIT IN THE ROOM’s 2022 debut EP for Housecore Records, Flamingo.

“Flamingo is a character,” notes Sanders. “It could be anybody who lives a chaotic-slash-exotic lifestyle. There has been a bird presence in my family for the longest time. You’ve seen flamingos; they’re beautiful and strange. Flamingo could be a stripper or an errand boy for some really scandalous entity. To me, Flamingo is just very after hours.”

Describes Sanders of “Venting” in part, “Escaping from the back of an old pickup truck on a lost highway through the desert, ‘Venting’ hits the ground running. It’s a sci-fi cowboy western surfing extravaganza: Volatile, paranoid and vengeful. Pushing back, pushing forward. Fine line tightrope walking over a sea of dirty needles. Run, Motherfucker. Run!”

SPIRIT IN THE ROOM remains comfortable in the dark. Audiences initially met Sanders as part of Black Light Burns. However, he introduced SPIRIT IN THE ROOM during 2010 before revealing a series of projects — The Holy Phobia, Pt. 1 EP (2014), Demon (2015), and Spirit In The Room, Vol. 1 EP (2019) — in between various singles and countless shows. Along the way, the band also performed on bills with the likes of Deftones, ††† (Crosses), Scour, and more. Receiving critical acclaim, Kerrang! applauded, “SPIRIT IN THE ROOM are a special kind of band,” and went as far as to christen Sanders, “a dark poet for dark time.” Cvlt Nation confessed, “I’ve been hooked on the dark passion of their at times contradictory, always hard to define sound. And you should be too.”
Throughout the Pandemic, Sanders went through a heightened level of hell on earth (even for 2020). He left one chaotic environment to “live in a room in a big house in the true Los Angeles neighborhood of El Sereno” as part of a fraught situation “that got increasingly violent.” When all was said and done, he found himself sleeping in his truck, at the studio, and at a girlfriend’s place as he wrote and recorded Flamingo in the eye of this storm, singing and playing guitar, bass, synths, and piano.
“I’ve realized I never really had a home,” he observes. “There are five songs I’ve written about that. Then there are some paranoia vibes until it explodes because you’re so emotional you can’t control your reaction. The end of the EP resembles becoming the new person you are, which is not necessarily a good thing.”
“…we experience a whole range of feelings from paranoia to obsession that make Flamingo what it is; a musically progressive record with Sanders more than ready to take risks along the way… one of the strongest EP releases of this year to date, with SPIRIT IN THE ROOM really making a statement and reinforcing a true sense of identity and realism in the process.” – Distorted Sound
“…a blistering heavy garage-come-industrial metal banger.” – Maximum Volume Music
“Flamingo is not a record for the faint of heart, as this is a very deep, dark and real. There are only a few bands out there today that has the balls to put it all out there and SPIRIT IN THE ROOM is at the top of the pack.” – Audioeclectica
Melbourne-based ambient dream folk alchemist PLUM GREEN today offers up her rendition of The Sisters Of Mercy’s “Valentine,” now playing at The Obelisk.
Originally featured on The Sisters Of Mercy’s 1983 The Reptile House EP, the slow, drum machine-lead, reverb drenched track is a goth cult classic. The cover was an international collaboration, with Duncan Nairn providing bass and footage from New Zealand. Daniel Cross provided the other instruments, engineered vocals, and mixed the track in Melbourne, Australia. GREEN created the music video, which was shot on a VHS camcorder and spliced video from Nairn which was also run through a VHS to fit. The track was mastered by Jesse Oberin.

Watch PLUM GREEN’s haunting version of The Sisters Of Mercy’s “Valentine,” alongside an in depth interview, at The Obelisk HERE.

PLUM GREEN released her Somnambulistic full-length last Fall via Nefarious Industries. A rousing collection of dark lullabies, each of Somnambulistic’s nine stirring tracks ebb and flow with otherworldly grace manifesting one pulsing dream narrative. Guided by guitar, PLUM GREEN’s voice travels through walls of bowed soundscapes.

Somnambulistic was produced and mixed by Daniel J. Cross at The Pool Room in Melbourne, Australia with string quartet engineered by Jesse Oberin at Crosstown Studios. A variety of different instruments are featured including classical string arrangements and the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ, which is said to be the largest musical instrument in the Southern Hemisphere. Somnambulistic also features collaborators Tonal Noir from Macedonia and Valentina Veil (VV & The Void) from Berlin.

View GREEN’s previously released videos for “Eyes Shut,” “White Kitten,” “People Of The Snow,” “Walk Against The Wind,” “Moon Of Honey,” “Raspberry Vine,” and “Here We Go” HERE.

Somnambulistic is available on LP and digital formats. Find ordering options at THIS LOCATION where the record can be streamed in its stunning entirety.

Born in a squat in England, raised in New Zealand, and presently residing in Australia, PLUM GREEN combines elements of folk, grunge, goth, and post-rock with her dark and moving lyrical prose. GREEN’s voice aches with the ocean’s desire to connect and divide. Summoning ghosts, lovers, and other creatures of the night, GREEN’s poignant hymns are at once deep, haunting, and alluring. However, it is within the live setting where PLUM GREEN truly comes into her own. Performances take on the quality of a ritual journey into darkness, delivering listeners safely back in the sunlight on the other side. Her shows are intimate affairs where time seems to draw to a standstill, her sheer ability to hold an audience with just her voice and a guitar something that must be witnessed in person to truly comprehend. Accompanied by guitarist Daniel Cross, there is an intensity to the proceedings with the pair often working together in a subconscious state of euphonious symbiosis.

The Kelly Deco Band return on December 2nd, 2022 with their latest album, ‘Constellation.’ Hailing from California, the band’s leader describes his music as “Retro-futuristic, rock, love, and fantasy. Songs with a mix of old 70s rock and futuristic spins on Bowie, Meatloaf, Anthony Newley, and Love.”  Deco also points out that legendary Producer & Grammy Winner Val Garay “really delivered that 70’s sound we wanted, and he invented.” And concerning standout tracks, he said, “Check out ‘Destination Fascination,’ ‘Automat Girl,’ and ‘Waiting for the Girl, ‘Take the Red Pill,’ and ‘Creature Dream.’ ‘Automat Girl’ is a great sounding 70’s riff on a classic Edward Hopper painting of the same name, where we finally understand what’s happening there. I love the paintings of Edward Hopper, and With ‘Automat Girl,’ I really feel the excitement of running away through the streets of NYC with the girl of my dreams and nothing but the night and the stars above.”

In the early ‘80s, the band began playing such famous LA venues as the Troubadour, Gazzarri’s and the Whiskey A Go Go, and recorded music connected to Robert Stigwood at United Western Studios, included the songs “Get Out” and a ballad called “Working for a Chance to Survive.” Stars aligned for meeting up with Richard “Dickie” Davis of Buffalo Springfield fame (coincidentally good friend of producer/engineer Val Garay).

And this was the point that Kelly began his time working as a scenic artist in the movie industry. The song “No Reality” (written in 1982), was soon trademarked, and would serve as the symbol for the Kelly Deco Band. “No Reality” was the best-known track from his first CD, ‘Big Fish,’ recorded at the Record Plant Studios in Sausalito 1983 and 1984, while more tracks were added in Los Angeles studios, until ‘Big Fish’ was officially released in 1990.

The stars then aligned and the independently-produced video for “No Reality” (directed by Wayne White, three-time Emmy award winning designer for ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse’ and Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time”) became widely publicized. The clip was played on numerous nationwide video programs, garnering national attention, and ultimately charting in Billboard Magazine’s Viewer’s Top Request on the nationwide program ‘Night Tracks’ in 1991 for most requested video.

Later that year, Kelly made personal appearances on the California Music Channel in San Francisco, promoting the “No Reality” video, and Total Request Video in Arizona as well as the popular San Francisco Program ‘Art Attack.’ In 1994, Kelly released the CD ‘American Dream,’ followed by the release of ‘Get Out,’ with the title song originating from the 1982 Stigwood session at United Western. The stars aligned once again, and Kelly’s most recent recording is with legendary and Grammy award winning music producer Val Garay. The current album, ‘Constellation,’ is in final stages of release.

QUEENSRŸCHE Release Video for New Single “Hold On”

New Album “Digital Noise Alliance” Out Now!

The band comments: “‘Hold On’ primarily focuses on the misfortune of social media and how this new societal landscape has become a false barometer of ones’ value, essentially, influencing and affecting peoples’ self-worth. Reminding people to not believe everything they see, and to not buy into the glorification of fame, money, and popularity. It strives to empower those that have been blinded by the distorted reality of the glorified social media lifestyles. It is a song reminiscent of older, simpler times.”

In less than a week the band will embark on another US tour with Judas Priest.

Hardcore/thrash/crossover band Cage Fight have released new single “Eating Me Alive” featuring the late, great Trevor Strnad ofThe Black Dahlia Murder. Opening up about struggles with mental health, the “Eating Me Alive” lyric video has been released on World Mental Health Day, the internaxtional day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

One of — if not the final — recording by Strnad, the video was originally planned for May 13, which was Cage Fight’s album release day. But the drop was postponed due to Strnad’s tragic unexpected passing just days before. Trevor’s support for singer Rachel Aspe‘s work played a key role in the formation of Cage Fight, which is why his contribution to their debut album is so special. And the subject matter — struggles with anxiety and mental health — makes this poignant song even more significant.

Aspe comments, “Over COVID I was looking for a new project and releasing covers for something to do, but also to hopefully connect with other musicians. When I released my cover of ‘Statutory Ape,’ Trevor picked up on it and shared from The Black Dahlia Murder’s pages, and it got a lot of attention. Trevor messaged me to say he loved it, and hoped that I’d find a band off the back of the cover. Not long after James (Monteith, guitar) contacted me about Cage Fight and the rest is history. “Had it not been for Trevor’s support,Cage Fight m ay never have happened; it was a huge honor to have him guest on this song and it meant the world to us. He was one of the greatest supporters of the scene and new music, and is truly missed. RIP Trevor.”

On the song’s content, bassist Jon Reid comments, “‘Eating Me Alive’ is about the day-to-day struggles and challenges with mental health that are so prominent to so many people and how the sorrow and loneliness can have a tangible effect. This is something personal to us and we wanted to let people know that they are not alone. We can all have these feelings and that most importantly there is help out there, and we can all find something special.

“We have chosen to release this on World Mental Health day as a sign of solidarity.”

With the new single, Cage Fight are urging fans to show support by purchasing the Trevor Strnad memorial shirt. All proceeds will help Trevor’s family cover expenses incurred by his death and benefit the Common Ground Resource & Crisis Center. Purchase and donate here.

“Eating Me Alive” is taken from their debut album, Cage Fight, out now on the Candlelight label. Stream or purchase the album here.

2022 has been an explosive year for Cage Fight with the release of their highly acclaimed self-titled debut album, tours with Sepultura, Raging Speedhorn, and Cro-Mags, shows with Svalbard, Napalm Death and more, as well as appearing at many festivals including Bloodstock, Burn It Down, including headlining Derby Alt Fest. Now firm favourites on the live circuit, Cage Fight have announced their first ever UK headline tour in December 2022.

oronto-based alt-rock band BRKN LOVE are pleased to announce their new album ‘Black Box’ in the midst of their busy US/CAN touring schedule. It will be released on Nov. 4th and is available for preorder HERE

After the success of their ‘Vol.1′ and ‘Vol.2′ EPs, the trend continues with the band’s sophomore album, which once again showcases how well songwriter/front man Justin Benlolo uses all the tools in his arsenal to firmly position BRKN LOVE in the young, modern rock revolution.

Justin says, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce the release of our new LP ‘Black Box. This album is the next evolution of BRKN LOVE. Imagine everything you loved about our band and then turn it up to 11. It’s truly a milestone record for us. After the release of our first record and all the complications that came along with it (namely the pandemic), we really wanted to a chance to redeem ourselves. This is our redemption record. We’re back at full force and we’re not pulling any punches this time.

Making this album was a challenge unto itself. We had come off the back end of several tours and essentially had two weeks to write, record and mix the album. They say diamonds are formed under pressure, and I believe that the added weight forced us to come up with the best songs we have ever written.

The overall theme revolving around ‘Black Box‘ is the concept of learning from your mistakes and bettering yourself because of them. When we were writing the record, our producer Anton Delost and I had become obsessed with flight recorders, that are put into airplanes to keep track of anything that happens. The idea came from how the people will assess a plane crash by what the black box has recorded. It’s a metaphor for our band, our lives and everything we have been through up until this point.

We truly hope you enjoy this piece of music as much we do. Make sure you turn it up and as always, rock on. Thank you.”

CAUSTIC CASANOVA release and stream the new album “Glass Enclosed Nerve Center”

CAUSTIC CASANOVA release their highly eclectic and absolutely wicked new album “Glass Enclosed Nerve Center” today, Friday, October 7. Please see below for album details.

CAUSTIC CASANOVA comment: “Three years and one worldwide disaster in the making, we finally unleash our fifth album, ‘Glass Enclosed Nerve Center, and the spirit of no rules whatsoever continues!”, bass player and singer Francis Beringer writes. “In the best possible way, we continue to not care about anything but making our music the best it can be, to us. As long as there’s a good riff, we’ll go anywhere and follow our songs wherever they take us. We will write a love song with Thin Lizzy guitar harmonies, synths and country influences. We will mash noise rock and psychedelia in drop A. We will go latin-funk-prog in a song about lockdowns. We will start the vocals 4 minutes into a 10-minute song that absolutely is trying to be Rush, King Crimson, Mars Volta, and the Melvins all at once. And we will fill side B of the record entirely with a 22-minute sludge-prog epic about the 1912 presidential election. We can hardly wait for everyone to finally hear all the insane places that we took ‘Glass Enclosed Nerve Center’ to, and hope folks enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!”

“Hands-down one of the best offerings of 2022 in the stylistic umbrella that is heavy rock.”

Watch the Official Video for Addictive First Single, “Upside Down”

European Tour with Beyond the Black and Amaranthe Kicks Off Today!

Game-changing new album, Chapter III – Downfall, bewitches with an innovative sound full of soaring melodic splendor juxtaposed against brooding, dark and even gothic heaviness. Exploring concepts of Ancient Egyptian history and mythology, AD INFINITUM melds a perfect balance of storytelling and technically sophisticated songwriting, spreading their wings in both areas of production and lyricism. Charging instrumentals, pounding drums, chunky, grooving riffs, mind-boggling solos and enchanting orchestrations build the band’s unique world of sound as frontwoman-to-watch Melissa Bonny’s soul-stirring cleans and haunting growls put her incredible vocal range on display – dropping jaws with each line. Produced by AD INFINITUM and Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, Chapter III – Downfall showcases that this up-and-coming quartet can effortlessly turn the genre upside down, gracing it with contemporary vibes without forgoing their signature metal origins, and thrilling all metal fans as they rise to the top!

“The word is out, Chapter III – Downfall is on its way! For this album, we explored stories and legends of Ancient Egypt with, as star character and main inspiration, Cleopatra. We added some extra dimension and sounds to our signature AD INFINITUM sound to create an extra dimension, transporting the listener to mystical landscapes of another era. We are beyond excited to start to unveil this new record!“

“We are beyond excited to share the new era of Bury Tomorrow with you all. Enjoy and anticipate.

FLESHWATER — Anthony DiDio [vocals, guitar], Marisa Shirar [vocals], Matt Wood [drums], and Jeremy Martin [bass] — will release We’re Not Here to Be Loved on November 4 via Closed Casket Activities. Pre-order it here.

Fleshwater paint in broad strokes of alternative, shoegaze, electronic, post-hardcore, and off-kilter pop splashed against a tight sonic canvas awash in vibrant colors and visceral textures.Their songs unfurl with all the unpredictability of a living entity — and you can never quite put a finger on where they’ll go next. The moment you press play, it’s as if they appear in a rush of emotion, only to disappear back into a ghostly ether once the record stops. As such, the Lowell, MA quartet balances the intimate inhale of male-female harmonies with an overpowering exhale of distortion. The band quietly emerged in 2020 with Demo. “Linda Claire” amassed 1.3 million Spotify streams under the radar, while Stereogum hailed the three-song set as “a cool piece of hazy guitar-trudge music.” Along the way, the musicians wrote what would become We’re Not Here To Be Loved and self-produced the album with Kurt Ballou (Converge) recording them. The band mined a kaleidoscope of influences, ranging from Hum, Deftones, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Far to Björk, and they ultimately arrived at an ethereal signature style of their own punctuated by gnashing grooves and anesthetizingly gorgeous vocal conjurations.

At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant comments on the news as follows: “It is with great pleasure we welcome Anders Björler, one of the founding members, back into the band. We are excited to tell you that we are already starting the work on the follow up to ‘The Nightmare of Being’, with the same line up that wrote ‘Terminal Spirit Disease’, ‘Slaughter of the Soul’ and ‘At War with Reality’. Anders’ first show back in the band will be Damnation Fest in the UK, and he will join us on the European tour together with In Flames later this year. Great times! It really feels like a second rebirth of the band, and we are looking forward to this new chapter!”

Anders Björler added the following comment: “It feels like coming home for sure. I have been missing the guys of course, but also playing the guitar, writing music and the artistic creativity in general. I’ve been watching from the sidelines for a number of years, and I’ve been very proud of what they have created in my absence. I am really looking forward to writing a new album and getting back to playing live shows again…”

ABBA Metal Masters AMBERIAN DAWN Announce New Covers Album, Take A Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA, out December 2, 2022

Genre-merging AMBERIAN DAWN emerges again with a brand new offering, bringing world famous songs by the legendary ABBA into the metal world. The covers album Take A Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA will be released on December 2, 2022 via Napalm Records. Following their passion, this album pays tribute to one of their biggest inspirations and ushers in the dawn of an entirely new spin on the metal genre.

As a first taste of what can be expected, AMBERIAN DAWN have released the first single from the album, entitled “SOS“, plus a new lyric video. This inarguable evergreen the metal unit has skillfully re-imagined implements their own characteristic sound – showing their full range with trademark ABBA-flavored keys, renowned lyrics and a guitar driven sound to create a unique experience.

Tuomas Seppälä on the new single:
“’SOS’ is a great song. It’s both a happy and sad song at the same time. The original version uses a unique piano sound. I didn’t want to use that kind of piano sound myself, because it wouldn’t have been as good as the original, so instead of that, I used more powerful guitars and other synthesizers in our arrangement. Our version of the song really brings ABBA into the world of metal in the 21st century.”

October 4, 2022 — dredg–Gavin Hayes (vocals, guitars), Drew Roulette (bass, samples), Mark Engles (guitars) and Dino Campanella (drums, keyboards)—is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album, EL CIELO, with two special limited-edition box sets, which go on sale Friday, October 7 exclusively on the band’s online store.

Both packages include the original critically acclaimed album remastered as double 12” custom marble swirl printed vinyl with a vinyl-etched track listing, and a 16-page 7” booklet. There will also be various EL CIELO merch packages available, as well an extra special “Super pack” collection with includes all of the above plus an autographed cover, wall flag, custom t-shirt and sweatshirt, sticker and magnet pack, and an eye mask (for the amplest dreaming experience). The 16-page 7” booklets contain the album’s original hand-written letters from people who suffered from sleep disorders and their experiences with sleep paralysis, which was part of the inspiration for the album’s music and lyrics.

The main concept behind EL CIELO stems from a painting by Salvador Dali called “Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening.” That title also happens to be the acronym of the first song, “”Brushstroke: dcbtfoabaaposba.” Upon its initial release, the band explained to them the painting symbolized sleep paralysis, which Dali’s wife suffered from.

“When we were lucky enough to compose our first major label record, we took full advantage of the opportunity to move to the Palm Springs area, set up shop in a rental home and immerse ourselves in as much creative fuel as possible,” remembers drummer/keyboardist Dino Campanella.

He continues, “The initial scheduled writing period of 2 months turned into 4 or 5 (I cannot remember), but it didn’t matter because we were in route to preparing, what we considered a uniquely special front to back album, meant to be devoured in completion. This methodology of a complete listen is a rarity today, but the records we loved to listen to in this manner will never be forgotten.”

Originally released on October 8, 2002 on Interscope Records (when the band’s only social media website was Myspace!), it was praised in the CMJ New Music Report at the time of its release: “The band’s new full-length, EL CIELO, was recorded at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch, a fitting place to create such a spacey (in a good way), cinematic effort. Boasting broad, sprawling soundscapes that cascade over crystal clear melodies, dredg implements everything from delicate mandolin playing to Bulgarian chants to create songs that are like – in the band’s own words – ‘abstract paintings’…dredg is in a class and category all by itself.”

That’s not all…the band is currently putting the finishing touches on THE dredg VAULT large collection of unreleased and newly imagined goods that will be released later this year. While the exact on-sale date and purchasing options are still being planned, THE dredg VAULT was created for the band’s most devoted and longtime supporters. The centerpiece will be a beautiful hardcover 13″x10″ 330-page coffee table book encompassing imagery and dredg paraphernalia from the years 1994-2022.

Fans will also be thrilled to know that dredg is currently hard at work on their sixth album which will be released in the new year. They’ve been secretly writing on and off the past few years and are now knee-deep in the process. As Campanella describes, “To me, this album sounds like a more mature incarnation of dredg, which comes from the obvious reason that we are older now, having stepped away from the collective craft for quite some time. This gap in time has given us a newfound appreciation for not only one another, but also for this work of art we’ve created together and have the ability to create indefinitely. Please don’t let the word ‘mature’ deter the reality that dredg continues, in my opinion, to sound as ambitious and far reaching as ever. Our tastes are clearly fine-tuned and there’s no shortage of our classic desire to be weird as fuck.”

Stay tuned for more details about THE dredg VAULT and the new album, and in the meantime, head to the band’s online store to order the 20th anniversary EL CIELO packages!

Acclaimed Rockers ALTER BRIDGE Release Lyric Video for Album Opener “This Is War”
Cut from the Upcoming Album, Pawns & Kings

With the band releasing more content in advance of an album release than ever before, ALTER BRIDGE is back with the fourth song from their upcoming album, Pawns & Kings“This Is War” is the bombastic album opener that sets up the musical journey that listeners can expect from a new ALTER BRIDGE album. With Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums, the band is at their songwriting finest on the aggressive track that showcases the musicianship that has earned them a global army of fans.

The haunting vocal intro sounds like an internal battle is waging as Myles belts out the lyrics: “Fight for your life, can’t you see what’s coming. Fight for your mind, this is war.” The lyric video was created by ALTER BRIDGE visual collaborator Wayne Joyner
