SABATON ANNOUNCES NEW EP TRILOGY ECHOES OF THE GREAT WAR First EP, Weapons Of The Modern Age, OUT NOW

LOS ANGELES, CA – FRIDAY, September 30, 2022 — Today, metal heroes SABATON make an exciting announcement: With their fascination for the stories of World War I, and two dedicated studio albums filled to the brim with stories from this conflict, the band from Falun has decided to dive even deeper into this topic with their newest release: The EP trilogy entitled Echoes Of The Great War. This new EP trilogy features new songs specifically about World War I, coupled with topically related catalog music. You read that right! SABATON has been busy in the studio recording some new music for their fans.

With this WWI collection, the band aims to present this music in a different way, enabling listeners to familiarize themselves with these incredible war stories while simultaneously quenching the thirst for metal music.

Commenting on the new project, Pär Sundström states:

“This trilogy complements our two studio albums ‘The Great War’ and ‘The War To End All Wars’. We were definitely not ready to close our World War I chapter. We wanted to continue the journey and let it echo a little longer in the hearts and minds of our fans.”

The first in the series, Weapons Of The Modern Age, is out now. In times of conflict, science is very much linked to the war system. The First World War witnessed some of the biggest leaps in scientific evolution, weaponizing land, sea and skies in ways never witnessed before. This EP sheds light on the powerful and devastating tactics used to fight the war, and kicking off this release is SABATON’s new track, “Father.”

Sharing his insight on the track, Joakim Broden said:

“Our new song ‘Father’ is a dark track about a very controversial person. Fritz Haber, the man who weaponized lethal gas, is responsible for about 4 billion people being alive today thanks to the Haber-Bosch process that he won a Nobel Prize for. It takes some serious thought to wrap your head around his story. Things aren’t always easy to understand or simply black and white, but rather all shades of grey. ‘Father’ really forces you to think a bit more than the average song you hear on the radio.”

ABOUT SABATON:

SABATON climbed the international charts with their album The War To End All Wars, securing #1 positions in Germany, Austria, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Finland. Having achieved the top position for the second time in Germany, Sweden and Finland, the album peaked at #1 in Poland, Hungary and Austria for the first time in the band’s career. This and additional outstanding results in other territories have made The War To End All Wars SABATON’S most successful album so far.

SABATON announced the re-scheduled dates for the European leg of their tour, known as “The Tour To End All Tours”, as well as an extension of “The Great Sweden Tour” with 20 additional shows in 20 more cities taking place in early 2023. All tour dates can be found HERE.

The Sign Records Update! Brand New Singles from Rokets & Lucifer Star Machine Out NOW!

Rokets shares their “Best Kept Secret” Video Watch Below:

Rokets reveal the softer side of garage rock on their new single “Best Kept Secret”. With timeless rock riffs and honest vocals, this smooth and colorful track hits the sweet spot where melodic rock’n’roll meets catchy pop.

Best Kept Secret” is the third single from Rokets’ sophomore studio album “Break Free”, which will be released on The Sign Records December 9th.

Sami from Rokets comments on the single:

“”Best Kept Secret” is our selection for the third single of the upcoming album ‘Break Free’. We chose it because its the song from the album that really stands out as the so-called “outsider” of the group. It’s a bit more melancholic than most of the high-speed tracks we have on there and has a bit of a pop rock twist to it. The song tells a story about giving all you got to someone without getting anything back and coming out of a bad situation as the champion standing on the higher ground. Always walk tall!”

Biography:

Rokets, formed in 2017, is a rocking and a rolling band from Helsinki, Finland. They have earned a reputation of a ferocious and electric live act through their constant gigging around Finland and the Baltic states.

The band’s first EP ‘Speed & Sound’ has been sold out for quite some time and their debut album ‘Fast Times’ has gained a lot of attention and positive feedback around Europe and America.

Now set to release their second album ‘Break Free’Rokets are ready to make their presence be known with their high energy rock’n’roll. Besides setting stages on fire venue after another, the five members of Rokets have left a mark in the underground music scene of Finland by being a part of bands such as Black Lizard, Tryer, Velvets, Green King, United Seafood, Rusty Triggers and Slippers.

Rokets are:

Sami Mustonen – lead vocals

Sakke Vänttinen – electric guitar, backing vocals

Elias Laurila – electric guitar, backing vocals

Lauri Lyytinen – bass guitar

Otto Bigler – drums

Lucifer Star Machine Launch ”Censorshipped” single and video

Lucifer Star Machine returns with the adrenaline-fueled single and music video “Censorshipped”. The track is a punchy mixture of hard rock, punk, and hardcore on which the German five-piece shares their views on censorship and freedom of speech.

Crushingly heavy yet sing along friendly, “Censorshipped” is the first single leading up to Lucifer Star Machine’s fifth studio album ‘Satanic Age’, which will be released during the spring of 2023.

Tor Abyss from Lucifer Star Machine on “Censorshipped”:

“We’ve written this song during lockdown around 2 years ago. Musically we wanted it to be right in your face with a singalong vibe. Kinda like 90’s Death Punk but with a modern twist. Lyrically we wanted to express our views on cancel culture and censorship in general. We live in controversial times where natural laws like freedom of speech are being put to the test constantly. It’s important when living in a democracy, that we can endure different opinions. This is a song about the protection of liberty and individuality.”

Censorshipped” is out now on all streaming platforms together with an animated music video made by Mike “Fox” Foxall (The Art Of Fox).

The single is released on The Sign Records

Biography

Lucifer Star Machine play fired-up Rock’n’roll influenced by Punk and Hard Rock.

Their high energy live shows cement their reputation as a true in-your-face Hardcore Rock ‘n’ Roll act. But it is the segueing of this wanton brutality with their sense for heartfelt and catchy melodies that makes them truly stand out.

The 5-piece was founded in London, UK in 2002 and has since toured several times across Europe, sharing stages with acts like Peter Pan Speedrock, Nashville Pussy and Demented Are Go.

In 2019 Lucifer Star Machine hit the stage at Wacken Open Air, one of the world’s biggest Heavy Metal festivals, where the bill included Slayer, Body Count and Airbourne amongst others.

Lucifer Star Machine‘s first single, “Death Baby“, came out in 2004 and was produced by Punk Rock legend Rat Scabies of The Damned. After two album releases on various indies, they signed with German label I Sold My Soul Media in 2013, who released their critically acclaimed third full length “Rock’n’Roll Martyrs“. The record was lauded for its authenticity and its snotty and unadorned approach.

In 2012 founder and band leader Tor Abyss moved back to his home country of Germany, whilst the rest of the band remained in England. Over time the logistics proved to be too difficult, so he decided to give the band a fresh start.

Thus, since Autumn 2014, Lucifer Star Machine is now based in Germany, with band members being located in Hamburg, Brunswick, Hanover, Fulda and Ede (NL).

Since their reformation the group has released 2 singles and an EP, which were accompanied by three videos.

The band has signed a record deal with Swedish label The Sign Records, who released the group’s fourth album ‘The Devils Breath worldwide on 3rd April 2020.

During the pandemic, Lucifer Star Machine has written and recorded a new full-length record titled ‘The Satanic Age‘, which is set to be released by The Sign Records in 2023.

Their new line-up boasts ex-Mad Sin axeman Mighty Ramon and drummer Captain Fettsau.

PIERCE THE VEIL DROP “PASS THE NIRVANA WATCH BELOW

SONG MARKS THE FIRST NEW MUSIC FROM THE BAND SINCE 2016

TOUR WITH I PREVAIL SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!

Pierce the Veil  — guitarist/vocalist Vic Fuentes, guitarist Tony Perry, and bassist Jaime Precadio

The song was a juggernaut from the start — landing play listing at Rock This, Rock Hard, Rock Rotation, All New Rock, Rock Out, New Noise, Volume Máxim, Breaking Rock, Rock Arena, and more. It also netted over 6 million streams in the month since release. Pierce the Veil, which Rolling Stone once described as “hyperactive, progressive post-hardcore,” have truly served up a new track full of fuzzy guitars, massive melodic hooks, and PTV’s distinct emotional heart. “Pass the Nirvana” is quite the riff fest and it marks Pierce the Veil’s first new music since 2016. It was worth the wait — and then some. It is destined to become a fan favorite that the PTV faithful will scream the lyrics to at their live shows.

“‘Pass the Nirvana’ is about the many horrible traumas that the youth of America have endured over the past few years,” said frontman Fuentes previously about the song’s powerful, relatable, and topical subject matter. “COVID, no proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list goes on. Their lives have been tossed around like clothes in a dryer, as the tensions within our country have infiltrated our own homes, friends, and families. To me, the song represents a euphoric detachment from all of that anxiety and stress and about finding some form of peace or nirvana.”

Pierce the Veil are currently on the road with I Prevail and Fit for a King. All dates are below.

Lorna Shore releases new single plus age-gated video: “Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear” – the second part of “The Pain Trilogy”!

Today marks the next chapter in the epic journey of Lorna Shore, leading up to the release of new album, Pain Remains (due to be unleashed October 14th via Century Media Records): “Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear”.

The band comments on “The Pain Trilogy”: “‘The Pain Trilogy’ is a three-part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, ‘Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames’ begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away. This leads to the second song, ‘Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear’. This is the part where the person vanishes and the main character struggles to accept the pain. He as well wishes to disappear and seeks to throw it all away.

Lorna Shore supports suicide prevention and support. We encourage all to speak to their issues and spark conversations that help and mend us all.

CRAZY SWEDES Premiere “What’s On Tap” Video Exclusively with Sonic Perspectives

Jam-band rockers CRAZY SWEDES have partnered with Sonic Perspectives for an exclusive premiere of their music video for “What’s On Tap, which can be found right here. The new video was shot by Emmy-winning cinematographer Taylor Morrison, chopped by illustrious editor Hue Hughes, and directed by Swedes guitarist Will Severin, who shares:

‘What’s On Tap’ is one of the funkier numbers on the release and falls somewhere between the jam band and fusion worlds. It has a joyous vibe and the guys had a lot of fun with it. George (drums) and Eric (bass) laid down a great groove for Rob (keys) and myself to stretch out and improvise over. During the production process with our co-producer (Chris Theis) the song grew to include a horn section and some ripping trumpet solos courtesy of our bud and honorary Swede, Dylan Canterbury.”

Severin adds, “A lot of the other cuts on the Deluxe Edition are tips of the hat to our musical influences. All the guys in the band are killer players and bring a lot musically to the table. With CRAZY SWEDES we all challenge each other, and it’s the perfect band to let yourself go and just play. There’s a lot of variety on the new release, catchy hooks, and a very healthy dose of shredding!”

Originally released on August 20, 2021, the band is back with three new tracks to add to an already outstanding debut entry. In addition to the 10 tracks found on the standard version, the deluxe edition includes live covers of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and “Stratus” by Billy Cobham, along with an original acoustic track, “Indigo Chrome”.

LISA BODNAR AND WHISTLEGRASS RELEASE SECOND SINGLE “SHE KNEELS” FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM, 40 YEARS IN THE DESERT, AND ANNOUNCE NOVEMBER 4 SHOW, AT THE ROXY THEATRE, NORTHAMPTON, PA.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – September 29, 2022 – Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, which includes Lisa Bodnar’s home city of Allentown, has certainly seen some trying times. Lisa, who’s endured some trying times of her own, has inherited some of that defiantly optimistic, won’t-be-beaten-down Lehigh Valley grit. This grittiness weaves its way through moving, beautifully crafted songs that comprise 40 Years in the Desert, her long-awaited third album. Her debut album, Maybe I Did, was released in 2003 to instant acclaim and even charted on college and triple-A radio in the mid-2000s. The sophomore album, Come Hell or High Water, fared even better, garnering four Grammy nominations: Best New Artist; Best Pop Vocal Album; Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical; and Producer of the Year.

40 Years in the Desert is out through Deko Entertainment on October 28th and features eleven brand-new songs. You can listen to the second single “She Kneels” now, Lisa had this to say about it, “ ‘She Kneels’ is a song about hope and redemption and a love worth fighting for…”  Listen here: https://smarturl.it/SheKneels

The first single for “Best That I Can” was released last month and is being embraced by fans, including multiple features on Spotify playlists. Lisa also filmed an accompanying video in and around her hometown of Allentown. It was directed by Ace Bouchard, son of founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, Albert Bouchard.   View video here: https://bit.ly/BestThatICan

In support of 40 Years in the Desert, Lisa Bodnar and Whistlegrass are currently planning the PA67 Tour, a state-wide celebration for community outreach to help the people, places, and programs that need it the most. They will be hitting the Roxy Theatre in Northampton, PA, on November 4.  Get tickets here: https://lisabodnar.com/shows-and-tickets

VITTRA: New Noise Debuts “Halls Of Ancients” Video From Swedish Melodic Death/Thrash Outfit; Blasphemy Blues Full-Length To See Release November 11th

Swedish melodic blackened death/thrash unit VITTRA today unleashes their latest video for the track “Halls Of Ancients.” Now playing courtesy of New Noise Magazine, the band’s latest single comes off their debut full-length, Blasphemy Blues, set for release on November 11th.

Originally called Vildvittra, based on the characters created by Astrid Lindgren as part of Ronja Rövardotter [Swedish for Ronia, The Robber’s Daughter, a children’s fantasy book first published in 1981], their name later evolved into VITTRA, inspired by the mythical creatures appearing in Swedish folk stories. And while Swedish folk is a recurring theme weaving in and out of their music, the band is firmly rooted in melodic death and thrash metal in the veins of Dissection, early In Flames, Megadeth, and At The Gates.

The video clip documents the band in the recording studio. Comments guitarist Johan Murmester, “‘Halls Of Ancients‘ is a mix of groovy and melodic death metal as in Soilwork meets Hypocrisy and old In Flames. The melodic verse has been with me for quite a number of years, influenced by the Inspector Gadget theme with a Soilwork touch to it. While the pre-chorus is the result of excessively listening to Megadeth, it is rooted in the central idea of how I wanted our songs to be experienced in a live setting: when I saw In Flames live a long time ago, they really got the audience going – I wanted to recreate that feel and get that vibe and experience for us as well!“

THE AGONIST Reveals Disturbing New Music Video for “Immaculate Deception”

European Tour Begins this Friday, September 30!

JUNO Nominated EP, Days Before the World Wept, Out Now Order Here!

Death metal trailblazers THE AGONIST have just revealed a twisted new music video for the crushing, grooving track “Immaculate Deception”, cut from their JUNO Award nominated EP, Days Before the World Wept, out now via Napalm Records!

The dark and disturbing clip comes just in time to prepare fans for the band’s upcoming European tour. Featuring headliners Hypocrisy, special guests Septicflesh and fellow support artists Horizon Ignited, the run begins this coming Friday, September 30 in Germany. See below for all currently confirmed tour dates and check local venues and listings for more information.

Vocalist Vicky Psarakis says:

“Immaculate Deception is a song about societal pressure and feelings of remorse over time. The main point I want to highlight is the concept of time and the fear that comes with it. We all reach a point where we start noticing that we’re aging. In current society, there’s a big push to try and preserve our physical state. There’s a huge movement of cosmetic procedures and products that promise us “eternal youth”. People like to think that they can keep reliving their 20s, instead of embracing the natural course of life and the challenges and rewards that come with it. To bring this vision to life, we focused on our main character coming face to face with different versions of herself: her naturally aged older self chasing her with an imaginary “mob” (representing society) and her unrecognizable cosmetically altered self staring at her through the mirror. She ultimately realizes she can not run anymore. Remorse is a powerful feeling and influencing factor for a lot of our decisions, but the fact is you can never go back in time and change the things you’ve done. All you can do is learn and push yourself to be better over time. To thank all our fans who directly donated money for this video to be made, we added their names to the credits. We could not have done this without you!”

GAEREA Unveils Official Music Video for “Laude”

Cathartic black metal entity GAEREA is now sharing the brand new music video for the song “Laude,” which is taken from the band’s brand new opus, ‘Mirage!’ The video, which documents the band’s performance at VOA Heavy Rock Festival 2022 in the band’s home country Portugal, can be seen HERE.

The band comments, “Today we shine light upon ‘LAUDE,’ the last single of the ‘Mirage’ record. An ode to this core’s unity and a whisper in the High Lands for what is about to unfold in the Vortex Society. A song about Sacrifice, Despair and Agony. A song about us: GAEREA. And as we once wrote: ‘(…) if the shores were not ravaged by human greed and ignorance, Resilience would draw a wall of adventures ingrained in our cells.’”

In addition, GAEREA will be embarking on an extensive European tour in support of label-mates Gaahls WYRD along with SAOR and WINTERFYLLETH starting this Friday, September 30 in The Netherlands! The full run of dates can be found below!

‘Mirage’ can be streamed, downloaded, or ordered HERE.

“…an album that’s simultaneously tender and beastly in both sound and substance, and one that expands and redefines black metal’s capabilities while retaining all the requisite barbarity.” – Decibel Magazine (Sept 2022 issue, lead review) (8/10)

“…an emotional rollercoaster of a record that’s going to sometimes make you feel sorrow, sometimes elation and lots of reflected longing.” – Metal Injection (8/10)

“If 2020’s Limbo was the sound of a band putting any doubts about their abilities – or their authenticity – firmly to rest, then Mirage is the sound of a band with nothing left to prove to anyone… except to themselves.”

GAEREA will be supporting legendary black metal band WATAIN for three dates in Mexico this December! Prior to the dates in Mexico, GAEREA will be embarking on their first ever Latin America tour this November! The headliner will kick off in Brazil on November 15 and will conclude in El Salvador on November 30! The band will then head to Mexico City to headline Mexico Black Metal Chaos Festival from December 2-4 (Exact date TBA). Venues and tickets will be announced soon! GAEREA is also be appearing at several European festivals this summer, with their next performance taking place on August 4 at the renowned Wacken Open Air. In addition, they will be supporting label-mates Gaahls WYRD and SAOR on an extensive European tour this fall. The six men comprising Styx have committed to rocking the Paradise together with audiences far and wide by entering their second decade of averaging over 100 shows a year, and each one of them is committed to making the next show better than the last. Styx draws from over four decades of barnburning chart hits, joyous singalongs, and hard-driving deep cuts. Like a symphony that builds to a satisfying crescendo, a Styx set covers a wide range of stylistic cornerstones. From the progressively sweeping splendor that is “The Grand Illusion” to the hunker-down fortitude of all that is the “Blue Collar Man,” from the majestic spiritual love for a special “Lady” to the seething indictment of preening, primping pageantry for pageantry’s sake of “Miss America,” from an individual yearning for true connection as a “Man in the Wilderness” to a soul-deep quest to achieve what’s at the heart of one’s personal vision in “Crystal Ball,” from the regal reach-for-the-stars bravado of “Come Sail Away” to the grainy all-in gallop of that rugged “Renegade” who had it made, the band draws on an unlimited cache of ways to immerse one’s mind and body in their signature sound.

A new era of hope, survival, and prosperity comes calling with the release of CRASH OF THE CROWN, Styx’s latest “masterpiece” studio album, which was written pre-pandemic and recorded during the trying times of the pandemic. The multi-Platinum rockers–James “JY” Young (lead vocals, guitars), Tommy Shaw (lead vocals, guitars), Chuck Panozzo (bass, vocals), Todd Sucherman (drums, percussion), Lawrence Gowan (lead vocals, keyboards), Ricky Phillips (bass, guitar, vocals), and CRASH OF THE CROWN producer and co-writer Will Evankovich (guitars)–released their 17th album June 18, 2021 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which is available as clear vinyl, black vinyl, CD on digital platforms. They released more new music on September 17, 2021, THE SAME STARDUSTEP, originally sold as part of Record Store Day (June 12, 2021). Available on blue 180-gram 12-inch vinyl only, featuring two brand-new songs on side one (“The Same Stardust” and “Age of Entropia”), as well as five live performances on side two of some of Styx’s classic hits previously heard during their “Styx Fix” livestreams that have been keeping fans company during the pandemic on their official YouTube page, including “Mr. Roboto,” “Man In The Wilderness,” “Miss America,” “Radio Silence,” and “Renegade.” It’s available worldwide on all digital platforms

CRASH OF THE CROWN is the follow-up to STYX’s 16th studio album, THE MISSION (their first in 14 years at the time, which critics also called “a masterpiece”) which was released June 16, 2017 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. The highly anticipated two-disc reissue of THE MISSION was released on July 27, 2018 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of the album mixed in 5.1 surround sound accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album’s 14 songs based on the album artwork. It originally debuted on various Billboard charts, including: #6 Top Rock Albums, #11 Physical Albums, #11 Vinyl Albums, #13 Current Albums, #14 Billboard Top Albums, #16 Retail, #17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, #29 Digital Albums, and #45 Billboard 200 (includes catalog and streaming).

OBSIDIOUS Premieres Music Video for New Song, “Lake of Afterlife”

Pre-Order Here!

Modern progressive metal outfit OBSIDIOUS is now premiering the official music video for their new song, “Lake of Afterlife,” which is taken from their upcoming debut album, ‘Iconic!’ The video, which gives an intimate behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of ‘Iconic,’ can be found at THIS LOCATION.

OBSIDIOUS comments, “This song narrates, in first person, the experience of a person whose time has come, but who is being stopped by external factors. And this person just wants to go in peace, that he has accepted his fate and does not want to suffer. It is a situation we have often seen of denial on the part of relatives of a person who is being kept alive, prolonging the inevitable.”

‘Iconic’ is due on October 28 via Season of Mist! The album can be pre-ordered on physical formats HERE while you can pre-save the album to all streaming services HERE.

Modern metallers Obsidious launch their wonderfully intricate and musically-accomplished new album, Iconic, via Season of Mist. The group—featuring Linus Klausenitzer (bass), Rafael Trujillo (guitars), Sebastian Lanser (drums), and vocalist Javi Perera (vocals)—come from distinguished and lettered origins in Obscura, Alkaloid, Eternity’s End, and Juggernaut. Obsidious, however, are a different creature entirely. Iconic is technical but not officious. The album breathes intensity but expands upon it with mellifluent dexterity. With Obsidious, there’s always a hook. The early release of and positive feedback from video singles “Under Black Skies,” “Sense of Lust,” and the title track illustrates these qualities well. Iconic builds upon a prestigious foundation, but its vision isn’t restricted to its tenets.

“We consider ourselves the modern evolution of progressive and technical metal,” bassist Linus Klausenitzer says. “To name a few bands: Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, Periphery, and Haken. As such, our music asks for many different moods and vibes. Javi’s vocals reinforce that idea, adding meaning and drama to it. While we still work as session musicians, Obsidious is now our main priority.”

Obsidious crystallized after Klausenitzer, Trujillo, and Lanser departed amicably from fellow German tech-metallers Obscura in 2020. Named after black volcanic glass, the group’s moniker exudes something dark, of fiery origin, in a state of final transformation. Metaphorically, the name Obsidious offers a nearly limitless platform for expression and advancement. However, it was only when the trio brought on newcomer Perera—whose growls and full-toned voice are first-rate—were the multi-national outfit officially codified. Interestingly enough, the newly-joined frontman couldn’t even meet his bandmates while the band wrote, recorded, and filmed videos for Iconic due to the pandemic. Yet, the technologically-apt foursome made it work.

Iconic is an album of manifold extremes. “Sense of Lust,” “I Am,” and “Devotion,” for example, pivot on heavy rhythmic axes, their intense grooves seamlessly unifying with ample doses of atmospheric dissonance. “Under Black Skies,” “Delusion,” and the title track, on the other hand, are nimbly expeditious, with Perera’s considerable vocal talents complementing Trujillo, Klausenitzer, and Lanser’s angularly-involved, smartly-experimental songcraft. As for “Iron Dust,” “Lake of Afterlife,” and the massive chorus in the ferocious “Bound by Fire,” they offer a more straightforward (yet ebullient) musical and aesthetic posture. Throughout Iconic, Obsidious impress with their artistic inventiveness and creative expanse.

“Seventy-five percent of the band members were part of Obscura, so we knew what most of our fans like and what they don’t,” says Klausenitzer. “When we decided to integrate clean vocals, we knew that the reactions would be controversial. But we like to push the boundaries. We don’t like to stand still musically—we want to add something fresh to metal. This is why this band is so special for some listeners already.”

Lyrically, Perera tackles human-relatable topics throughout Iconic. While his modern metal peers abstractly traverse the vagaries of the universe, the singer hits home where and when it matters. Disaster in any form is trauma-inducing, and this is at the heart of Under Black Skies, where a tremendous yet preventable calamity descends on a petty yet desperate populace. BDSM, an uncommon topic in metaldom, carries through “Sense of Lust.” Here, sex and the power of and subsequent joy by the submissive are explored. The title track, “Iconic,” discusses dementia. Perera’s profession outside of Obsidious is in healthcare, and he’s seen firsthand how the mental disorder traps and torments. Iconic is a showcase in multiplicity.

“This album does not have a concept per se in terms of lyrics or an underlying storyline,” vocalist Javi Perera says. “The songs on this album touch on subjects of diverse nature, and there are even some songs that narrate personal experiences. But what I can consider as a common denominator in the album is the absence of constraints on a compositional or stylistic level, allowing us the freedom to shift between different musical genres as long as the song requires it. I always consider that we, as artists and musicians, are at the service of the music and not the other way around.”

Extensive pre-production aided in Obsidious handling a pandemic-era recording process for Iconic. For the official sessions, the group spread out parts to several different studios. Firstly, Lanser kicked Iconic into gear by recording drums at Lanser Studios in Salzburg, Austria. The rest of Obsidious holed up in Woodshed Studios in Fürth, Germany, where producer V. Santura (Triptykon, Obscura) tracked guitars, bass, vocals, synths, and sound effects. Vocal overdubs and additional soundscaping were taken to TheRedHouse Studio in Cambridge, England. Obsidious then handed the finalized pieces back to V. Santura to mix and master. Even though Iconic was a non-linear undertaking, it sounds absolutely monumental.

“The pre-production was very professional,” says Klausenitzer. “So, we already had an idea of what we wanted the songs to sound like—we had a specific sonic goal in mind. We had already worked with V. Santura before, so we knew what to expect in that regard. The recording sessions were, if anything, straightforward. When V. Santura completed the final master, we knew we had created something unique and special—the Obsidious sound!”

Obisidious are ready to deploy their unique brand of hooky neoteric metal on Iconic. From Trujillo’s wickedly clever riffs and Lanser’s artful drumming to Klausenitzer’s superb counterpoint and Perera’s soaring vocals/venomous spits, songs like “Under Black Skies,” “Iconic,” “Bound by Fire,” and “Nowhere” brim with cool calculation and aggressive spontaneity. They storm normality not only musically and lyrically. The monolithic cover piece by French graphic artist Adrien Bousson (Rotting Christ, Khonsu) also transcends convention. Obsidious are poised for a breakthrough on Iconic. Prepare for metal’s modern metamorphosis! Genre: Modern Progressive Metal

INCITE’s latest full-length, Wake Up Dead, was released in April via Atomic Fire Records. With Wake Up DeadINCITE jettisons the extraneous bloat of slicker bands in favor of authentic grit and determination, consistently churning out “headbanging riffs with concussive force (Kerrang).” Ghost Cult champions, “a massively enjoyable collection of aggression from a band led by someone who has literally lived and breathed metal since the day he was born,” while Dead Rhetoric observes, “Consistent road warriors that they are, INCITE brings another platter to the table that should have no trouble adding more staples to the setlist – ensuring sweat infested hordes a glorious time.”

The very spirit and attitude of heavy music culture, courses through the veins of INCITE. Over the course of five albums — The Slaughter (2009), All Out War (2012), Up In Hell (2014), Oppression (2016), and Built To Destroy (2019) — the band has cemented their reputation as one of America’s leading groove armadas, heavily hitting home with their blend of old-school thrash majesty, frantic aggression, melody, and skill. Written over the course of several bouts of feverish inspiration throughout the pandemic, with recording duties again handled by legendary producer Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Everytime I Die), Wake Up Dead delivers in the most relentless way possible.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS SHARE “HARLEY DARLING” (ACOUSTIC)

THE PRETTY RECKLESS — Taylor Momsen [vocals, guitar], Ben Phillips [guitar, keys, piano], Mark Damon [bass], and Jamie Perkins [drums] — will release Other Worlds, a new collection of material, on November 4 via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

The Pretty Reckless dressed down this favorite from Death By Rock And Roll to its bare essence with a stirring and striking acoustic performance.

“‘Harley Darling’ is a love letter to Kato Khandwala,” says Momsen. “It’s as simple as that. So many of us have stories of losing loved ones, especially now, and I hope this song can be used in other’s healing as it was in my own.”

AVATAR SHARE LYRIC VIDEO FOR NEW SONG “VALLEY OF DISEASE”

The heavy metal ‘n’ roll, dark, madcap visionaries collectively known as AVATAR — vocalist Johannes Eckerström (vocals), guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, bassist Henrik Sandelin, and drummer John Alfredsson — have emerged from deep within the Swedish forest in which they have been working on their ninth album to grace fans and listeners with a brand new song.

“There is a sickness, a stranger, and a harmful way,” says Eckerström. “A twisted landscape untouched by the sun. I leave the rest up to either you or me, but never both at the same time. You can only enter this place alone, and my path isn’t yours. Your secret is safe with me, but so is mine.”

Avatar enjoyed quite a productive summer, traipsing North America on a successful headline tour. They next embarked on some of the biggest shows of the career — a trek with Iron Maiden, supporting the band in stadiums in Brazil. Avatar also played arenas supporting Sabaton. They secured slots at major festivals globally — Inkcarceration, Cadott Fest, Summer Breeze, and Bloodstock along the way.

Avatar add Veil of Maya in the UK and Europe this February and March 2023 on the Dance Devil Dance Tour. All dates are in the graphic below. More U.S. touring will be announced in due time.

There are no weapons on this planet that can challenge might of the electric guitar. For decades, metal has been the most powerful force known to man. Its sonic teeth have gnawed through the status quo over and over, pushing the boundaries for what can be created in the marriage between blood and machine. If a Mount Rushmore were to be carved for all the titans of the genre, it would span the entire globe many times over. It’s a burning beacon, the misfits, and rebels.

As time has passed, much of the scene has become divided in two equally stale camps. The first is forever stuck in the past, no longer seeking to lead. The second are those who have forgotten the most important ingredients to what made metal what it was and must remain. They’ve lost touch with the devil. They’ve forgotten how to move. In a genre best experienced with your whole body, they’ve lost the lust.

Avatar, however, have NOT lost anything.

AVATAR ARE:
Johannes Eckerström — Vocals
John Alfredsson — Drums
Jonas Jarlsby — Guitar
Henrik Sandelin — Bass
Tim Öhrström — Guitar

WOLVES AT THE GATE DROP EULOGIES (LIVE SESSIONS) EP

WOLVES AT THE GATE have dropped a live EP, dubbed Eulogies (Live Sessions), today, September 23, via Solid Sate Records. It features live renditions from the band’s fifth album Eulogies, which arrived in March. Get the new EP here.

“Whenever we are writing new material, we always try to envision what these songs will feel like in a live setting,” says Steve Cobucci. “When we finished writing ‘Weight of Glory,’ it was easily the track we were most excited about bringing to life in a live setting. After being unable to play shows for a couple of years due to the lockdown, when we finally got together to play these songs, ‘Weight of Glory’ was the first one we wanted to play. It was a fun and explosive moment for us that really got us excited for the prospect of playing live music again.”

ABOUT WATG:
Unrestricted by genre conventions and determined to raise the bar with each successive album, Wolves at the Gate deliver music and a message with a firm commitment to passion and authenticity. Tirelessly seeking out the light in seemingly overwhelming darkness, the Midwestern post-hardcore group balances soaring melodies with unrelenting metal and emotional heaviness. Eulogies arrives with confidence and forward motion born from reflection, introspection, and isolation.

The small-town Ohio-based five-piece band built the foundations for the album’s 13 songs during the pandemic shutdown, shaping diverse tracks like “Shadows,” “Peace That Starts The War,” and “No Tomorrow” into stunning confessional epics. Wolves at the Gate’s audience treasures each of the band’s best-known songs for the emotional depth, passionate catharsis, and evocative power contained in them, as evidenced by the millions of streams for WATG anthems. These include “Counterfeit,” “A Voice in the Violence,” and “Drifter” (from 2019’s Eclipse); “Asleep,” “Flickering Flame,” and “War in the Time of Peace” (from 2016’s Types & Shadows); “Relief,” and “The Bird and the Snake” (from 2014’s VxV); “Dead Man,” “The Harvest,” and “Slaves” (from 2012’s Captors), and “Heralds” (from 2011’s We Are The Ones).

WOLVES AT THE GATE ARE:
Steve Cobucci — Vocals/Guitar
Nick Detty — Vocals
Joey Alarcon — Guitar
Abishai Collingsworth — Drums
Ben Summers — Bass

THE VARIALS SET TO RELEAE NEW LP “SCARS FOR YOU TO REMEMBER ” ON OCTOBER 14, 2022 THROUGH FEARLESS RECORDS

Pre-order it here

Philadelphia quintet VARIALS — Mitchell Rogers [vocals], Mike Foley [bass], James Hohenwarter [guitar], Shane Lyons [guitar], and Sean Rauchut [drums] — recently announced their new album Scars For You to Remember. The metallic juggernaut is their third long player and it will arrive on October 14 via Fearless Records

While Varials go hard — really hard — on their new album Scars for You to Remember, they show off their contemplative and dynamic side with “Circles.” The song starts out with an almost melancholic verse before erupting into a larger-than-life chorus with a pulsating riff and percussion. It’s a master class in quiet-loud atmosphere, and shifts to utter ferocity in the middle of the song. The song vacillates between many moods from start to finish and that’s what makes it wholly satisfying. “‘Circles’ is a new but familiar style for the band,” says Varials.  “We’ve touched on sounds like this before, but this is the melodic climax of the record and our career this far. We hope to take this sound further into the future.”

Varials’ headline tour kicks off next month on October 7 in Asbury Park, NJ. All dates are below.

Balance occurs in the midst of extremes. Varials seamlessly alternate between moments of crushing power and melodic poise, unlocking harmony in the middle of opposite poles. The band continues to sharpen this signature style with searing intensity, uncontainable energy, and uncompromising creativity. They’ve carefully cultivated this sound over the years. The band attracted a devout fanbase with Pain Again [2017] and In Darkness [2019]. The latter yielded “Romance,” which amassed 3 million Spotify streams and counting. Of the title track, Decibel raved, “Varials have their own modern spin on hybridizing metal and hardcore into a powerful new amalgam.” Meanwhile, they hit the road with the likes of All That Remains, Wage War, Oceans Ate Alaska, Kublai Khan, and more. During 2021, Mitchell assumed full vocal duties for the band. After amassing tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from DecibelRevolver, and Alternative Press, to name a few, the band deliver controlled chaos like never before.

DAYSEEKER SHARE “DREAMSTATE” VISUALIZER-NEW ALBUM DARK SUN OUT NOVEMBER 4 VIA SPINEFARM BAND TOURING WITH BAD OMENS THIS FALL

Southern California’s DAYSEEKER recently announced their new album Dark Sun. The album arrives November 4 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

“‘Dreamstate’ is about my experiences in dreaming of my father, who passed last July and truly feeling like we were communicating while it was happening,” frontman Rory Rodriguez says about the intensely person track. “It was a beautiful thing to experience on one hand… but also very heartbreaking and disorienting with my sense of reality on the other.” The album, as a whole, is incredibly contemplative, with Rodriguez having said, “Dark Sun is a collection of songs that deeply explored my personal life over the last two years. Most of it is written about my father’s passing, about how it felt like the sun burned out the day he passed, and how the world is a little darker without him in it.” After a successful summer headliner run, Dayseeker will be back on the road this fall supporting Bad Omens. All dates are below.

Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker built themselves into a scene standout with 2019’s Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as  “a warm and welcome release to higher ground” and as “much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene.” The album has gone on to accumulate over 150 million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take its next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band’s creative vision, scope, and possibilities.

BRKN Love are hitting tonight with the Dead Poets Society at the Rebel Lounge in Phoenix AZ, get your tickets here!

Toronto-based alt-rock band BRKN LOVE have released the new single, “Under the Knife,” just before their busy U.S./Canadian touring schedule kicks off. Listen here.

After the success of their Vol.1 EP, which featured singles “Dead Weight” and “Like a Drug,” and the recent release of “Forever’s Enough” off their upcoming Vol. 2 EP, “Under the Knife” once again showcases how well songwriter/frontman Justin Benlolo uses all the tools in his arsenal to firmly position BRKN LOVE in the young, modern rock revolution.

Benlolo says, “‘Under the Knife’ is our most daring single yet. This song takes everything that people have been familiar with before, injects it with a shot of adrenaline, makes it listen to its older brother’s hardcore records and kicks it into a high-speed chase down the highway at 155mph. Needless to say, it’s an absolute rager. Lyrically, the song details a toxic relationship in which the people are actually enjoying the pain it brings them. The main character’s perspective is one I’ve never written from before. The character actively admits that the scrutiny and torture is something that is giving his life purpose, and throughout the song it results in him doing anything he can to continue this terrible situation. I felt like although this wasn’t a particularly happy subject, it was something different and relatable in many ways.  I hope you enjoy the song! Make sure you turn it up LOUD! Thank you.”

“Under The Knife” follows previous singles “Forevers Enough,” “Like A Drug,” and “Deadweight,” which BBC Radio One’s Indie Show presenter Jack Saunders called “the new age of rock and roll.” You can check out the latest here.

Meanwhile, BRKN LOVE are gearing up to play a number of shows across North America in support of Dead Poet Society and The Blue Stones, while also playing some of their first U.S. headline dates along the way. Starting September 2 in Phoenix, the fall run consists of 37 shows and the excitement for both legs is palpable.

“We cannot wait to hit the road with our friends Dead Poet Society and The Blue Stones this Fall,” Benlolo says. “These shows will truly be ones to remember. It’s been a minute since we’ve gone across Canada and we’re beyond excited to be with friends. On top of that, we are also playing our very first batch of headlining shows plus dates across the USA with more friends! All these shows will truly be ones to remember and the likelihood of them being off the rails is very high. In conjunction with this tour, we will also be releasing our second LP Black Box, which will make this super special and you can expect lots of new material to be played! It’s not every day that you get great, young, up and coming rock bands playing together like this, so you better come out and party with us!”

Three albums, millions of streams and several European tours and festival shows (Wacken Open Air, Woodstock Poland) later, Nine Treasures are well on their way to accomplishing their goal of a Mongolian metal revolution. For vocalist/guitarist and founding member Askhan Avagchuud, it’s the way the band harnesses their distinctive take on heavy music that sets them apart. “It’s always been about the music with us,” he says. “When I started this band, I had no idea how things worked, and I thought it was all about marketing, promotion and fancy videos, but after 10 years of doing this, I’ve realized that everything revolves around the music itself. That’s why our focus is on making our music as great as it can be – we’re constantly progressing.”

The music Askhan speaks of is a unique combination of old school heavy metal and traditional Mongolian music, which sees Nine Treasures utilize both conventional vocals and Mongolian throat singing. Likewise, guitars, bass and drums collide with traditional string instruments such as the balalaika and the morin khuur, resulting in a sonic kaleidoscope that follows no set template. Unlike much of contemporary rock and metal, there are no rules when it comes to Nine Treasures, and that makes the quality of the band’s output all the more impressive.

Thousand Below Unleash New Single + Music Video Face To Face Announce Signing With Pale Chord Music

Wednesday, September 21, 2022 – Hailing from San Diego, California, post-hardcore quartet Thousand Below have today unleashed their new single and music video for Face To Face (directed by Amber Paredes). The band has also announced their new signing to Pale Chord Music, home of other outstanding artists including Spiritbox and America’s Got Talent contestant, Harper. We’re absolutely thrilled to have signed with Pale Chord and to be putting out music with a great label again. We felt that Face to Face was the perfect track to announce our partnership with PC and to begin Chapter 3 of our band’s journey.

We wanted to come out the gate with something high-energy & in your face, as well as something that was a bit different from what we usually do–while keeping the essence of Thousand Below clear and in focus.

It’s been a long time since we began an album cycle and we’re ecstatic to get the ball rolling.

Be on the lookout for our 3rd album announcement coming very soon, but until then, we hope you all enjoy our new single “Face to Face”.”

About ‘Shadows Over Lothadruin’:

WIND ROSE’s Breakthrough Debut Marches into Battle Again with a Brand New Re-Release!

WIND ROSE’s debut album continues the musical tradition of the symphonic and neoclassical styles of Italian power metal bands Rhapsody of FireLabyrinthVision Divine and Thy Majestie, presenting power metal elements of fast riffing, heavy guitars, haunting atmospheres, vocal harmonies, and fantasy lyrics but with a twist of progressive elements to deliver an exciting new experience.

‘Shadows Over Lothadruin’ presents long and monumental pieces such as the almost ten minute long Majesty, changes from flowing softness to plodding heaviness in The Fourth Vanguard and Close to the End, and knee-jerking syncopated rhythms in Endless Prophecy and Led by Light.

Claudio Falconcini’s crunchy guitar tone provides stellar riff work, sweeping arpeggios, and soaring solos alongside Federico Meranda’s keys that create harmonic trills and the perfect atmosphere for the album. Daniele Visconti’s drums prod along with fast galloping sections and a slow, hard rock style accompanied by Alessio Consani’s bass work. The incredible Francesco Cavalieri leads the battle with his powerful voice that commands the warriors off to fight for glory!

TERMINA drops new modern metal single/video: “Take Flight” – mixed and mastered by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, Coheed And Cambria, etc)

In the hands of Nocturnal, Cizek and Turner, the tenets of metal’s newest subgenres become redefined. Metalcore, djent and deathcore are the true triumvirate of modernity, and combining them in fresh ways with a solid pop sensibility keeps it fresh, invigorating and truly progressive.

Stay tuned for more news about TERMINA coming soon!

Today the band has released the final official video taken from their most successful studio album to date, JUDAS (2021, #2 Official German Album Charts). The video for “A World Where We Belong” revisits the aesthetics from the very first video of the JUDAS cycle, The Death Of All Colors, and therewith perfectly closes this shining era of LORD OF THE LOST.

LORD OF THE LOST state:
“With ‘A World Where We Belong’, we visually close the JUDAS era as it began with ‘A Death Of All Colours’. The dreariness of these videos involuntarily reflects the feeling in which JUDAS was released. It was pandemic times without concerts – everything looked gray and hopeless – quite in contrast to the outstanding success of this album! We would like to end this feeling with this last video and jump into our HOMECOMING TOUR with joy and passion! We are coming home, home to you on tour! And we are looking forward to it irrepressibly!”

Deströyer 666 Reveals New Album Details, Unleashes New Song + Music Video

Black thrash outlaws DESTRÖYER 666 will be releasing its sixth studio album, ‘Never Surrender,’ on December 2 via Season of Mist! The cover artwork, tracklist, and additional details can be found below! In addition, the band is now unleashing the pummeling first single, “Guillotine,” along with an official music video.

‘Never Surrender’ can now be pre-ordered HERE.

DESTRÖYER 666 continue to do what they are best at: kicking ass and hammering out heavy metal that is slamming straight into the face. No compromise, no sell out, no bullshit!

DESTRÖYER 666 don’t do whiny nostalgia but simply stick to their old school roots, which are reaching straight down into the golden age of metal while allowing themselves to sound fresh and remain relevant. The band originally started out as a solo project of BESTIAL WARLUST guitarist KK in Australia in 1994. As early as with debut album ‘Unchain the Wolves’ (1997), fast-tracked towards international acclaim. The even stronger second full-length, ‘Phoenix Rising’ (2000) had the Australians relocating to Europe to be able to satisfy the soaring demand for touring and festival shows. After a round of line-up changes, third full length ‘Cold Steel… For an Iron Age’ (2002) cemented the band’s excellent reputation. After a hiatus caused among other issues by disenchantment with the business, DESTRÖYER 666 returned with ‘Defiance’ in 2009 and followed up on this success with the rough and gritty ‘Wildfire’ (2016) seven years later that saw them touring and performing at all the relevant metal festivals worldwide on a regular basis again. The Australians filled the gap between the latest albums with the hard-hitting EP, ‘Call of the Wild’ (2018) that comes with a distinct taste of an unrepentantly classic flavour.

The outlaws from down under deliver another pummelling and relentless lesson in aggression with full length number 6(66). ‘Never Surrender’ is a furious assault of black thrash, chainsaw riffs, and warlike drums, offering no moment of reprisal as it rages on for 40 unyielding minutes.

With this offering, DESTRÖYER 666 takes no prisoners!

SABATON’S “THE WAR TO END ALL WARS” MOVIE TO BE RELEASED IN 2023

LOS ANGELES, Monday, September 19, 2022 — The time has come for Sabaton to reveal some BIG NEWS.  The band is beyond proud to announce that for the last two years, they have been busy working on an exciting, large-scale project.

In 2023, Sabaton will release “The War To End All Wars” movie, a full-length musical motion picture featuring songs from the band’s 10th studio album, “The War To End All Wars.” This movie vividly tells the stories of World War I by way of animation and live action. It will give the viewer a better understanding of what the band’s songs on the album are about — it is a musical and historical adventure.

Currently in post-production, the movie is being made in collaboration with Yarnhub Animation Studio.  Sabaton previously worked with them on other projects, including their most recent animated story video for “The Red Baron.”

“The War To End All Wars” movie is on a completely different scale that neither the band nor Yarnhub have ever attempted before.

As the band has said, you’re going to want to see this!

“We premiered an early version of this movie to journalists during a preview session for our latest album, ‘The War To End All Wars,’ at the Royal Military Museum in Brussels. Witnessing their reaction to it was priceless – they were speechless – so we decided to take it to the next level and push the boundaries even further for a global audience.” // Pär Sundström

“When Sabaton asked us to go beyond anything we had produced before and jointly create a film for their new album, we were filled with excitement and trepidation. It was a massive undertaking that required new people, technology, and skills. But we couldn’t miss the opportunity. We often say our mission is to harvest goosebumps, and our work with Sabaton has always been the most successful in that regard. It’s been two years in the making, but after spending many late nights and weekends in meetings with the band, the end result is something unique. A new way to listen to the album; a deeper understanding that helps the viewer experience the bravery and tragedy that was the inspiration for Sabaton’s latest masterwork.” // David Webb, Yarnhub

“The War To End All Wars” movie is a cohesive, thought-provoking and emotionally charged piece with a heavy focus on storytelling. It features members of the band, both in real life and animated, and a lot of research and effort has been put into it to ensure it depicts history in the most accurate way possible – this is something that the band is very passionate about.

Sabaton had a dream of creating something that’s entertaining but with great educational value, and that dream has become a reality after two years of hard work.

There is so much more to tell you about this movie, and Sabaton will reveal more in time, but know that they are very excited to present this to you next year. Watch this space.

In the meantime, enjoy this teaser…

BLACK LAVA Reveals Music Video for New Song, “Eye of the Moon”

PRE-ORDER HERE!

Emerging blackened death metal quartet BLACK LAVA will release its debut full-length, ‘Soul Furnace,’ on November 25, 2022 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing an epic music video for their brand new single, “Eye of the Moon!” The video,  which was filmed and edited by Colin Jeffs and produced by Black Lava and Ten of Sword,s can be found at THIS LOCATION.

BLACK LAVA comments:
“‘Eye of the Moon’ tells a story of a man embarking on a journey through harsh landscapes – such as snow, forests and mountains – in search of a witches lair, looking for strength and guidance. The clip was shot in the beautiful scenes of Mt Buffalo, in Victoria, Australia. With its stunning landscape, dramatic cliffs and peaks, it was the perfect location for the story to take place. Filmed in the heart of winter over three days, the conditions were extremely difficult with temperatures dropping from -1 to -7 Celsius, which proved especially hard on camera equipment and the crews, with the constant snow, rain, and wind, made it near impossible to capture the artistic vision. Our hands were freezing at times and could hardly move,  but with an amazing dedicated team we persevered with its creation, and what you see is the result.

“We are extremely proud to present ‘Eye of the Moon.'”

Alternative Metal Band MORDRED Release “Demonic #7” Music VideoClip Features Testament’s Chuck Billy

The influential San Francisco alternative thrash metal act MORDRED have revealed a new music video for “Demonic #7,” which can be viewed below. The video is the latest visual piece for the band’s first new album in over 25 years, ‘The Dark Parade’ which was shot and edited by Eddie Granillo (Instagram @kept1) and stars Testament vocalist Chuck Billy as… the devil.

“The way I remember it, Eddie and Jeff [Gomes], our drummer, came up with the Chuck Billy devil storyline. It was Szandora LaVey [daughter of the infamous Anton LaVey] who was able to talk Chuck into painting him up when she came with the red paint, devil horns and the idea of being demon ladies,” explains singer Scott Holderby about the behind-the-scenes process.

Szan and Edie Eve choreographed all of their moves, and our good friend Larry Chandeler did all of the animations and post-production so that Eddie could edit. It was a really fun shoot, despite a dry ice debacle, but, oh well, we had our personal smoke machine to puff it up.  It was also nice that our seventh band member Chris Powell could be in the video as well, (as he helped write the song and played on the recording of it). Ken Mooney crushed his part too (he’s actually a great singer in real life). There are realms even lower than hell…”

MORDRED continues to promote ‘The Dark Parade’ with more videos and live shows in the works. In recent months the band recently completed west coast shows with Defiance, a festival appearance at Blades of Steel in WI and a trip to Europe to play Hellfest in France. Next up Sept. 30th headlining Club Fox in Redwood City, CA.

‘The Dark Parade’ is available on CD, cassette and digital but another vinyl variant will be available later this fall, since the original limited colored vinyl sold out so quickly. The new version will be black/red splatter and can be pre-ordered now at www.smarturl.com/mordred, along with CD, cassette and digital links.

‘The Dark Parade’ features five-sixths of the personnel from MORDRED’s acclaimed 1991 record “In This Life,” plus new drummer Jeff Gomes (formerly of Fungo Mungo and MIRV). The album is the follow-up to their acclaimed 2020 EP ‘Volition’ and their first full-length record since 1994’s ‘The Next Room.’ The group return to the scene with a revitalized energy and successfully recapture their classic sound, which is rooted in thrash metal but veers off the straightforward path for more adventurous musical explorations by utilizing funk-infused musicianship and hip-hop influences. “The Dark Parade’ showcases a band that sounds as fresh now as they did during their initial decade of existence.

MORDRED was formed in 1984 as the burgeoning Bay Area thrash scene was beginning its rise to global prominence. While mosh-inducing thrash formed the basic blueprint of their sound, MORDRED stood out as a unique presence thanks to their integration of the aforementioned funk and hip-hop influences. The group was one of the first Bay Area bands to explore those diversities in extremes, but as the dexterous bass performance of Art Liboon and innovative turntable work from band collaborator Aaron “DJ Pause” Vaughn provided a new spin on the thrash metal genre, MORDRED retained their metallic bark thanks to groove-laden shred from guitarists Danny White and James Sanguinetti and energetic shout-along choruses spearheaded by vocalist Scott Holderby. That combination of thrash metal and exploratory funk powered three full-lengths on Noise Records between 1989 and 1994: their revered debut “Fool’s Game”; their eclectic sophomore follow-up “In This Life”; and their final – until now – record, “The Next Room.”

RIPPED TO SHREDS Shares New Song “漢奸 (Race Traitor),” 劇變 (Jubian) Full-Length To See Release On October 14th Via Relapse Records

West Coast death metal trailblazers RIPPED TO SHREDS will unleash their Relapse debut full-length 劇變 (Jubian) on October 14th. In advance of its release, today the band shares new track, “漢奸 (Race Traitor).”

Frontman Andrew Lee comments, “I’ve been a melodeath fan from day one, so ‘Race Traitor’ is my take on Eucharist/Intestine Baalism style melodeath. The lyrics here directly speak to the experience of existing as a minority in a country where any action is seen as representative of their whole race.”

RIPPED TO SHREDS will perform at Bloodshed Fest in Netherlands April 29th-30th, 2023! Stay tuned for more RIPPED TO SHREDS live performance announcements soon.

Led by guitarist/vocalist Andrew Lee, RIPPED TO SHREDS emerges from the underground with their most fully realized and visceral work yet. Recorded and mixed by Lee in his home studio and mastered by Damian Herring at Subterranean Watchtower, 劇變 (Jubian) is RIPPED TO SHREDS at their most focused and refined.

劇變 (Jubian) bursts wide open with “Violent Compulsion For Conquest,” an elegantly dark, new kind of chainsaw sound teeming with acidic vocals gnashing out lyrics inspired by the Mukden Incident. From its lightning-flash solos to those immensely killer echoing “Ough!”s, this absolute scather, according to Lee, was born to lead. Elsewhere, longtime RIPPED TO SHREDS fans will find the latest chapter of the ongoing “Sun Moon Holy Cult” saga to be its most thrilling episode thus far. One of the album’s most impressive and catchiest tracks, “漢奸 (Race Traitor),” represents that “straight-up melodeath” banger Lee says he’s always wanted to produce while also giving vent to his experience as a minority in America. The charring “Reek Of Burning Freedom,” Lee notes, is “an anti-war song” that incites to remind its discerning listers of the United States’ “indiscriminate bombing” campaign waged on North Korea during the Korean War. Chainsaw guitars, relentless drumming, dizzying solos, and disgusting growling throughout, 劇變 (Jubian) is undeniably ripping death metal.

All of the intensity of power coursing through 劇變 (Jubian) is somehow perfectly captured and rendered by Chinese artist Guang Yang, who also painted the cover of the last RIPPED TO SHREDS album. The statue on the cover is Mazu, the Taiwanese sea goddess. The setting of the painting was inspired by several of the local temples Lee has visited in Taiwan. “I felt like it was important to have something standing in for Chinese people,” Lee says. “The cultural context and impact of RIPPED TO SHREDS as a Taiwanese-American band cannot be understated; Lee declares that a driving force behind RIPPED TO SHREDS has been “to increase the visibility of ABCs [American-born Chinese] in extreme metal by being very blatantly Chinese.”

It’s not about taking over. With 劇變 (Jubian), which translates to “upheaval,” RIPPED TO SHREDS makes their intentions clear.

“Chock full of scathing vocals, chainsaw guitars, and a brand-new chapter of the ongoing ‘Sun Moon Holy Cult’ saga, 劇變 (Jubian) showcases RIPPED TO SHREDS’ signature brutal-yet-melodic style at full chisel.” – Decibel Magazine

Transgressor” follows the successful release of first single “Rise To The Call,” and second single “See No Evil, Hear No Evil” both of which have received praise from press and fans alike in the buildup of the groups forthcoming album. This new album was produced by front man Michael Sweet, and firmly continues the trend established over the band’s last few albums, even somehow managing to beat its immediate predecessors, No More Hell To Pay (2013), Fallen (2015), God Damn Evil (2018), and Even The Devil Believes (2020), continuing the band’s unprecedented latest career streak of releasing arguably the best albums of their multi-decade career. The Final Battle sees the band growing heavier while also maintaining their trademark melodies, virtuoso guitar playing, and air tight rhythms. Fans can pre-order The Final Battle  HERE.  The Final Battle will be released on CD, 2xLP, and Digital formats, with multiple limited edition color variants of the LP available, along with exclusive merch drops on both Stryper’s and The Frontier’s websites. (More Info Below)

The Final Battle was crafted during the most challenging time of the band’s career. But rather than let the adversity get them down, the band accepted these challenges and channeled it into writing some of the greatest songs of their storied career. One of those great songs is the band’s latest single “Transgressor” off of The Final Battle. When asked about this new single Stryper front man Michael Sweet said, “Transgressor is a ride like no other. You take off at 100 MPH and it doesn’t let up until the very last note. It’s definitely one of our heaviest songs yet we wanted to incorporate melody and structure. We’re really excited about this one and we can’t wait to perform it live!”

When it comes to groundbreaking bands in the metal genre, Stryper is renowned for their distinctive brand of “heavenly metal,” extraordinary crossover success, and venerable endurance. The group ascended to prominence in the 1980s with Billboard Top 40 hits like “Calling on You,” “Honestly,” and “Always There for You” and has maintained a global fan base since. Stryper’s career album sales exceed 10 million worldwide, including 1986’s multi-platinum release To Hell with the Devil. The band also made history when it notched two songs simultaneously on MTV’s Top 10 with videos “Free” and “Honestly.” While Stryper is known for their Christian faith, their decades plus career in heavy metal has made them much more than just a ‘Christian metal’ band. Sure, that is part of who they are, but at the end of the day, they are simply a long-running and well respected heavy metal band with a late-career rebirth that has proved their enduring talent and musical skills are well intact.

Today, some 37+ years after emerging from the southern California nightclub scene, Stryper continues to record, tour and perform for loyal fans around the globe. With three original members including brothers Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar) and Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitar) and newest bandmate, seasoned bassist Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse), the group finds itself creating their finest, most powerful music yet. Stay tuned to Stryper’s socials below for updates on the release of more singles in the buildup to the release of The Final Battle as well as upcoming tour dates from the legendary metal group.

OZZY OSBOURNE RELEASES FULL NFL  HALFTIME PERFORMANCE FROM SEPTEMBER LOS ANGELES RAMS-BUFFALO BILLS GAME

Last week (Thursday, September 8) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE performed the halftime show for the Los Angeles Rams season opener at SoFi Stadium on the eve of the release of his PATIENT NUMBER 9 album. Because that performance was only seen by game attendees (NBC also aired a short clip of during the game telecast), OZZY has obtained the full performance to share with his fans. OZZY was joined by longtime band members Zakk Wylde and Tommy Clufetos, along with Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) and PATIENT NUMBER 9 producer Andrew Watt (who also worked with OZZY’s on 2020’s ORDINARY MAN album) for a medley of the album’s title track, along with his legendary classic (and popular sports anthem) “Crazy Train.” OZZY OSBOURNE’s PATIENT NUMBER 9 album (released September 9 on Epic) marks OZZY’s first release since his critically acclaimed worldwide chart-topping album ORDINARY MAN in 2020. Watch the performance here.

Produced by Andrew Watt marks OZZY’s 13th solo studio album. It’s heavy, it’s hard-hitting, it’s historic–it’s everything you’d want from an OZZY record and maybe more. Working with producer Watt for the second time, OZZY welcomed a dynamic A-list featured guests. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-master Tony Iommi appears on an OZZY solo album.

The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Old friend and one-time OZZY band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney supplying bass on a few songs.

JUNO Award-Winning Modern Power Metal Stars UNLEASH THE ARCHERS AnnounceApex’” Fifth Anniversary Edition, out November 18

Featuring New, Never Heard Reimaginations of Album Favorites “False Walls” and “Apex” Pre-Order HERE

Listen to “False Walls” Transformed as “Falsewave”

Fresh off of the release of their JUNO Award-winning 2020 full-length album ‘Abyss’, Canadian modern power metal frontrunners UNLEASH THE ARCHERS revisit its stunning predecessor, 2017’s seminal ‘Apex’. In celebration of the album’s five-year anniversary, ‘Apex’ will be available as a limited reissue 2-CD Earbook edition, as well as in Deluxe Digital formats, on November 18 via Napalm Records! Pre-orders for the special edition of ‘Apex’ are available now.

Both the 2-CD Earbook and Deluxe Digital versions will include the full original Apex album, plus two new bonus tracks – Falsewave” and Acoustipex – genius reimaginings of original album tracks False Walls and Apex, respectively, as well as a newly mastered instrumental version of the original album. The bonus tracks will also come on a limited edition single-style 10” vinyl EP available as part of the Earbook edition.

The synthwave reimagining Falsewave” translates perfectly with the original track’s super moody, midtempo vibes, while Acoustipex haunts with gothic folk/country-western cinematic flavor, breathing new life into the ‘Apex’ title track. Hop in your DeLorean and jam to the electric grooves of Falsewave” now, also listenable via a brand-new lyric video!

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS frontwoman Brittney Slayes says:
“Hard to believe it’s been five years since we released ‘Apex’! That record was really the beginning of a new era for us, so we are so excited to finally give it the deluxe treatment it deserves! The new bonus tracks were a lot of fun to create, as they’ve allowed us to show some of our other musical influences more prominently. The earbook is definitely the part I am most excited about though, being that the earbook for ‘Abyss’ was really a sequel to the story from ‘Apex’. Now our listeners can read the full ‘Immortal Saga’ chapter by chapter and discover some new details that were too difficult to convey through the music. And, we can’t forget about the instrumental edition! We’ve had fans asking for it for a long time and we can’t wait to hear the vocal covers and new renditions they come up with! We are just so excited for everyone to get their hands on this new edition – it’s such a great way to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this album that will always remain so special to us!”

BRKN LOVE UPCOMING TOUR AND NEW SINGLE “UNDER THE KNIFE”

BRKN LOVE SHARE “UNDER THE KNIFE” — LISTEN

LAMB OF GOD Drops Heavy New Single “Grayscale”

The Omens Tour w/Killswitch Engage and More Kicks Off September 9

Willie Adler says ‘Grayscale’ has just a smack you in the face, bit of hardcore feel to it. We had basically finished writing the record and I wrote this song thinking it won’t necessarily be a Lamb song. I sent it to Josh Wilbur, our producer, to check out and he responded with ‘Perfect, this is the last song we need for the record!'”

The heavy “Grayscale” includes Blythe’s vibrantly unhinged vocal attack plus Morton and Adler‘s threatening riffage to challenge and devastate headbangers alike and also features Cruz and

Campbell‘s unstoppable rhythms. Buy “Grayscale” here: https://Lamb-of-God.lnk.to/Grayscale

CELTIC FROST ‘DANSE MACABRE’ SUPER DELUXE BOX-SET OF THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS: 1984 -1987

‘CIRCLE OF THE TYRANTS’ & PRE-ORDER HERE – https://celticfrost.lnk.to/dansemacabrePR

Over the course of little more than three years between 1984 and 1987, Celtic Frost established themselves as one of the most important bands in extreme and experimental music of that era. ‘Danse Macabre’ brings together the band’s recordings from those years, capturing their boundary-pushing ambition and creative zeal.

On paper, the story of Celtic Frost’s early years is as unlikely as it is extraordinary: a tale of how teenagers from rural Switzerland, at once audaciously ambitious and ferociously uncompromising, took heavy metal into new, exciting and unquestionably extreme territory. That they did so in the face of adversity at almost every turn makes this story even more incredible.

From its very inception mid-way through 1984, following Tom Gabriel Warrior and Martin Eric Ain’s decision to dissolve Hellhammer, Celtic Frost set out to give expression – both musically and aesthetically – to a uniquely extreme artistic vision which the pair delineated in forensic detail in a document which was presented to Noise Records, with whom Hellhammer had released ‘Apocalyptic Raids’, in order to demonstrate to the label that their new band was a viable project.

Convinced, Noise asked Celtic Frost to record a mini-LP, even though that hadn’t formed part of Warrior and Ain’s concept document. Undeterred, and propelled by a burning urgency, Celtic Frost set out to write and record a full length LP in a matter of a few months. ‘Morbid Tales’ was recorded with Horst Müller in Berlin and was unlike anything else. Intensely heavy, nuanced and experimental, the record was a radical musical statement of intent; a stunning synthesis of Warrior and Ain’s disparate influences. From the furious opening riff of ‘Into The Crypts Of Rays’ through to the avant-garde experimentation of ‘Danse Macabre’, ‘Morbid Tales’ heralded the arrival of Celtic Frost as a profoundly unique and uncompromising band.

New Yorker Reed St Mark joined Celtic Frost as a permanent member in February 1985, replacing session drummer Stephen Priestly, and the trio recorded the ‘Emperor’s Return’ EP in April ‘85, at Noise’s request. Featuring the first recording of the essential ‘Circle Of The Tyrants’, the EP is a solid snap shot of the sheer fanaticism that was the lifeblood of Tom and Martin in particular.

‘To Mega Therion’ was Celtic Frost’s next album, recorded in September ‘85. Due to personal difficulties, Martin was not in the band at that point, and so bass duties for the recording were carried out by session player Dominic Steiner. Martin’s absence also meant that Tom was responsible for the music and virtually all of the lyrics. But despite difficult circumstances, the resulting album, however, was a triumph. Replete with iconic cover art by HR Giger, ‘To Mega Therion’ imposes its dark majesty from the off with the orchestral bombast of ‘Innocence And Wrath’, before launching into the savagery of the hook-laden ‘The Usurper’. Daring, dark and superlatively heavy, ‘To Mega Therion’ is a sophisticated expression of Celtic Frost’s inherent drive to eschew genre limitations and, instead, define art on their own terms.

Martin Ain was soon brought back into the fold and a few songs from ‘To Mega Therion’ were re-recorded and remixed with Harris Johns, emerging as the excellent sounding ‘Tragic Serenades’ EP. It, and Celtic Frost’s previous releases, increasingly received critical acclaim, which emboldened the band to take more risks, to push the boundaries of heavy music even further with their next album.

Recorded in Hanover at the start of 1987, ‘Into The Pandemonium’ was not an easy album to make; the band’s experimental ambitions often at odds with their label’s concerns. But, despite these obstacles, the band defended their artistic vision and the result is an astonishing piece of avant-garde art. The album’s experimentation is still striking today, challenging how we perceive heavy music and what it means to take music risks. Only Celtic Frost could create an album which kicks off with a singular cover of a New Wave song (Wall Of Voodoo’s ‘Mexican Radio’) and immediately follow it up with the mournful tragedy of ‘Mesmerized’.

‘Into The Pandemonium’ was the last recording made by this era of Celtic Frost, bringing to an end a period of incredible creative and artistic growth over what was a remarkably brief period of time. That the teenagers who recorded ‘The Third Of The Storm’ and ‘Triumph Of Death’ for the Hellhammer EP would, despite constant turmoil, be recording the jaw-dropping ‘Rex Irae’ just three years later is astonishing.

‘Danse Macabre’ captures the radical ambition and evolution of Celtic Frost from 1984 through to 1987. In addition to the albums ‘Morbid Tales’, ‘To Mega Therion’ and ‘Into The Pandemonium’, the 7 marble colour vinyl box set also includes the ‘Emperor’s Return’, ‘Tragic Serenades’ and ‘I Won’t Dance’ EPs, along with ‘The Collectors Celtic Frost’ compilation, a 7” of ‘Visual Aggression’ and a cassette of rehearsals recorded at the band’s Grave Hill Bunker. A 12” x 12”, 40 page book, brings together photography – some previously unseen – from the era and brand new interviews with Tom Gabriel Warrior and Reed St Mark. A Heptagram USB drive contains MP3 audio of all the albums, including bonus tracks. A Danse Macabre woven patch, a double sided poster, and a Necromaniac Union fan club enamel badge complete the set. ‘Danse Macabre’ is also available as a 5 CD box set, with 40 page book, badge, poster and patch.

Belgian Rock Sensation BLACK MIRRORS Announces New Album, Tomorrow Will Be Without Us!

Watch the Music Video for First Album Single “Hateful Hate, I’ll Kill You”

Tomorrow Will Be Without UsOut November 4, 2022 via Napalm Records
 Pre-Order HERE!

2017 saw Brussels-based rock sensation BLACK MIRRORS take the world by storm with the debut of their awe-inspiring Funky Queen EP. Feverishly acclaimed live appearances and a powerful festival showcase later, the band fronted by extraordinary vocalist Marcella Di Troia quickly inked a worldwide deal with leading rock and metal empire Napalm Records, soon gaining further praise with the release of their first full-length album, Look Into The Black Mirror. Continuing to exceed expectations, the unstoppable BLACK MIRRORS have now crafted a new masterpiece and one of rock’s leading highlights of 2022 – their upcoming release, Tomorrow Will Be Without Us, out November 4, 2022 via Napalm Records!

Are we killing our own planet? No, BLACK MIRRORS doesn’t believe that we as humans have the power to destroy mother earth. However, as the album cover below portrays, it’s clear who will end up burning – all living creatures, us. Tomorrow Will Be Without Us is a clear statement impacting every single one of us living on our planet.

As first album single “Hateful Hate, I’ll Kill You” proves, the band pushes their fuzz pedals to the max, delivering a powerful rock anthem you can’t help but move and groove to, yet perfectly showcases BLACK MIRRORS’ unforced, versatile and organic talent.

BLACK MIRRORS says about their first single:
“‘Hateful Hate, I’ll Kill You’ is one of the first songs we wrote and recorded for this album. We felt the song really helped us to shape the album as it embraces a lot of different influences like Nirvana and Hole, but also Queens Of The Stone Age, Jack White and even Radiohead.

The song is a shout out to the bitter world we’re living in, a shout out to our consumerist society! Our beautiful planet has its limits! We are on a sinking ship. We have left so many living beings to die, to disappear even. We need to change now more than ever – we have to change our ways.”

ORTÍÐ announce new two-track EP “Dómur um dauðan hvern” and release lyric video single ‘För’

Following in the wake of FORTÍБs highly praised sixth album, “World Serpent”, which also won the prestigious “album of the month” titles in German magazines Metal Hammer and Sonic Seducer, the band now offers a first glimpse of great things to come in the shape of the two-track EP “Dómur um dauðan hvern” (“Judgement of Everyone Dead”). The Icelandic pagan black metal trio now reveals the lyric video single ‘För’ (“Journey”) as a  tasty sample of the MCD, which is slated for release on November 18, 2022.

Please find all details regarding “Dómur um dauðan hvern” below.

Here is a music pre-sale link for “Dómur um dauðan hvern” http://lnk.spkr.media/fortid-domur

FORTÍРcomment: “The first track on the ‘Dómur um dauðan hvern’ EP is called ‘För’, which translates to ‘journey’, but the word can also be taken to mean ‘marks’ as in the plural of a mark”, mastermind Einar Eldur Thorberg aka Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson explains. “Well, both translations apply in this case, because this song deals with mankind’s journey throughout the ages and the indelible marks that we leave behind.”

With their two-track EP “Dómur um dauðan hvern” (“Judgement of Everyone Dead”), FORTÍРsent out an impressive sign of life. The Icelandic pagan black metal outfit continues in the massive footprints that their current album “World Serpent” has left. Epic Icelandic melodies, sharp riffing that draws from black, death, thrash, and heavy metal as well as Einar Eldur Thorberg’s distinct vocals combine into fiery and spirited new songs.

At the end of December 2020, FORTÍРwere visibly on the rise. Having moved back to Iceland and with a new line-up, mastermind Einar scored heavily with “World Serpent” in soundchecks, end of the year lists in the press and with sales soaring as well, it looked like those descendants of the Vikings were about to set sail again and take the world by storm. The world had other plans. For all too well known reasons, FORTÍРended up stuck at home instead of touring.

Instead of twiddling thumbs, FORTÍРdecided to hone their weapons by writing new material and to weather out the global storm season in their rehearsal room and later in the studio to make the best out of the situation. The first new songs on “Dómur um dauðan hvern” demonstrate that “World Serpent” was not an accidental success, but that this album represents a new height, which the Icelanders, with many years of experience under their belts and still burning with passion, have securely reached and hold on to.

There have always been subtle experiments and at times drastic line-up changes with each new album that FORTÍРhave released. Yet with Einar firmly at the helm, the Icelanders are still following the course that he set on the “Völuspá”-trilogy of albums from 2003 to 2010. Their combination of harsh black and death metal riffing with a pinch of thrash and a penchant for epic melodies, versatile vocals as well as a heavy dose of “Icelandic sound” was maintained on the acclaimed “Pagan Prophecies” (2012) full-length and the following “9” (2015) album as well, which finally led to the dark and deadly “World Serpent” being unleashed onto the pagan metal world.

Far from being satisfied with their latest achievements, FORTÍРare preparing for their next attack. “Dómur um dauðan hvern” is a strong omen for those ravens of the north to embark on another metal journey filled with heavy glory, riffs of ice, and steel-strings!

REVOCATION To Kick Off North American Headlining Tour This Week

Progressive death metal outfit REVOCATION will kick off their North American headlining tour later this week. The trek begins on September 9th and runs through October 16th with support provided by Krisiun, Alluvial, and Inoculation. See all confirmed dates below.

The tour kick off coincides with REVOCATION‘s latest full-length, Netherheaven, set for release on September 9th via Metal Blade Records. Four years in the making, the Billboard-charting trio – Dave Davidson (vocals/guitars), Ash Pearson (drums), and Brett Bamberger (bass) – meticulously explore the allegorical and literal aspects of Hell as they dig deeper into the darker, more diabolical side of death metal. In short, where the previous album, The Outer Ones (2018), jettisoned REVOCATION into the horrific maw of the cosmos, Netherheaven bores deftly through the nine rings of Hell to directly confront Lucifer and his multitudinous faces.

Leather’s New Studio Album “We Are the Chosen Announced for November 25, 2022

First Single & Video “We Take Back Control”Out September 23rd!

You can watch a teaser for the album below!

Leather Leone has a mission, and not just recently, but since the beginning of her life as an artist. As a thoroughbred musician, an exceptional metal vocalist, and above all as an unconditionally positive person, her message has always been: “Never give up and stay the way you are!”

You don’t have to look far to find this encouraging credo on her new solo album ‘We Are the Chosen’: It features immediately on the opening track “We Take Back Control“, and it would be difficult to express her self-confidence and zest for action more unequivocally. The song sets the direction for the whole album, for Leather’s ambitions, and for her future as a committed musician. Her positive lyrics run like a leitmotif through the album’s ten songs and create an atmospherically dense arch up to its programmatic finale “The Glory in the End”.

The album has been scheduled for release on November 25, 2022 on Steamhammer/SPV and will be available for digital download as well as on CD and vinyl LP. The lead single will be out on September 23, followed by a second single on November 4.

Leather Leone undeniably counts among the most charismatic metal vocalists of the past four decades. She already caused a sensation in the 1980s as frontwoman of Chastain, the band of guitar icon David T. Chastain. Together with him, Leone has produced a series of successful albums up to the present day, some of them for legendary US talent scout Mike Varney’s imprint, Shrapnel Records. She has also released successful recordings with Malibu Barbi, Sledge/Leather, among others, and as a solo artist.

“We Are The Chosen” features her first solo songs since “Leather II“” (2018), highlighting the amazing energy which has allowed her to break free from the oppressive situation of the past two years. Leone remembers: “Things had been going really well for me just before the Lockdown started, but with the arrival of Covid, all my touring plans had to be shelved and things were threatening to go down the drain. But my friend and guitarist Vinnie Tex was totally right in saying: ‘Now more than ever! We’ll do everything ourselves!’ The very first number we composed for the new record was ‘We Take Back Control’, which pointed the direction for the rest of the album.”

A direction which is also manifest on the other songs, such as the characteristic “Who Rules the World”, which is, as she explains “a typical example of my style, a kind of retrospective of my entire musical life”. In addition, there are a number of surprises on the new album: “Off With Your Head” has the American chanteuse embark to new pastures; Leone explains: “This song is one of my absolute favourites.” “Hallowed Ground“, which she has dedicated to her great idol Ronnie James Dio, also deserves to be mentioned. “I met Ronnie lots of times and had wonderful discussions with him. He knew that I first got into metal thanks to his music and that I owe him lots.”

“We Are the Chosen” was recorded at the Hertz Studios (Behemoth, Vader, Hate among others) in Białystok, Poland, with Leather Leone and Vinnie Tex in charge of songwriting and production. Woitek and Slawek Wieslawski mixed and mastered the material, and Marcelo Vasco (Slayer, Kreator, Testament) contributed the cover artwork.

Leather and Vinnie Tex have invested vitality and passion in every last detail of their new metal anthems, so it comes as no surprise that Leone sums up her latest offering as follows: “To me, “We Are the Chosen” is a labour of love and I’m incredibly proud of it!”

Her Shadow to Release ‘The Ghost Love Chronicles‘ November 11th via Svart

First Single & Video for “Fifth Season” Streaming

Pre-order here!

Her Shadow offers dreamy pop music with moonlight melodies, heavenly hooks and Lynchian twists. The ethereal soundscapes come to life in a dream noir universe oozing with catchy choruses, Morricone motifs and vintage sounds interweave with state of the art production.

The birth of Her Shadow was inevitable. Old friends, guitarist-songwriter Tomi Henttunen (Royal Lips) and keyboardist-lyricist Laakso (Kuolemanlaakso) had a versatile but very different background in making music but a shared obsession with Twin Peaks and Lana Del Rey. The original idea in 2016 was to combine the best of both worlds and spice up the mix with film noir and dream-like elements – to make music that they love but had never done before.

They recruited the enigmatic singer Anna Carolina (Royal Lips), drummer extraordinaire Toni Ronkainen (Kuolemanlaakso) and producer-engineer Jaani Peuhu (Swallow the Sun, Lord of the Lost etc.), and recorded a four-song demo. They instantly got signed to Svart Records and started working on their debut album. After five long years of hard work, it is finally ready to be released upon the world.

IRON FIST LONG LOST FILM RESTORED & RELEASED FEATURING UNHEARD, INSTRUMENTAL DEMORIPSAW TEARDOWN’ WATCH

SPECIAL 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS OF IRON FIST TO BE RELEASED ON 23rd SEPT 2022 PREORDERS & EXCLUSIVE MERCH BUNDLES HERE

Once upon a time the loudest, nastiest, speed-freaked trio in the land – the mighty Motörhead – decided that they needed an intro-film to come on stage to, so they could tour their brand-new album Iron FistNot for them some gentle promo video, for this was Motörhead in 1982 comprising the seminal three amigos line-up of Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke and Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor.

What they produced has been buried in the mists of time, confined to dodgy bootleg VHS’s, but it’s a gory, brutal, hilariously OTT short movie directed by Nick Mead where knights are murdered and maidens are in distress. Shot in a Hertfordshire forest it features a medieval, battle-hardened band stomping around a darkened forest, fuelled by vodka and brandishing weapons, wearing horned helmets and looking fierce whilst punching the air with their Iron Fist!

Imagine a recklessly non-health-and-safety, amphetamine-nightmare, super low budget take on Monty Python and the Holy Grail and you’re halfway there.

And now, in honour of the 40th Anniversary of the album that inspired this piece of cinematic pastiche, the Iron Fist trailer has been re-discovered, digitised and officially released for the world’s viewing pleasure. Originally cut to Gustav Holst’s ominous ‘Mars, Bringer Of War’, it now features the previously unreleased instrumental demo ‘Ripsaw Teardown’ as its audio soundbed. It’s really quite something, and sets up the forthcoming release of the Iron Fist 40th Anniversary editions

Whilst the album was rudely dismissed by critics on release, it now reveals itself as a vital snapshot of the band at a crucial period. It followed the consecutive triumphs of Ace Of Spades and No Sleep Til Hammersmith, when the three-piece found themselves caught in the tornado of success, but in true Motörhead style, they careered into their next phase at such velocity it transcended logic or reason to become this trio’s final kamikaze joyride.

Forty years later, Iron Fist sounds like prime Motörhead with the gloves and seat-belts off. For sheer velocity, it could be fastest, most out-of-control of all their releases. To celebrate the anniversary it is being presented in new deluxe editions. There will be hardback book-packs in two CD and triple LP formats, featuring a hammer fist blow, remaster of the original album, previously unreleased demo bonus tracks and a full concert, originally broadcast on Radio Clyde from 18th March 1982. Plus the story of the album and many previously unseen photos. There’s also a limited edition, blue and black swirl of the original standalone album.

Extreme Melodic Death Metal Stars DEFACING GOD Release Third Single “The Resurrection” + Lyric Video Watch

Debut Album, “The Resurrection Of Lilith” Out This Friday | Pre-Order

SHINING is certainly one of the most controversial and musically brilliant bands in the scene. Mastermind Niklas Kvarforth has never made a secret of his mental illnesses and other psychological issues, thus, themes such as self-destruction, suicide and violence play an important role in the band’s music. Over the course of ten studio albums, including masterpieces such as the acclaimed V. Halmstad and Redefining DarknessSHINING has garnered a large and loyal following who adore the musical genius and eccentric nature of Niklas Kvarforth.

It would not be appropriate to force SHINING into a musical genre. They root their main musical influences in black metal, but combine it incomparably with influences from various far-reaching genres such as classical music, jazz and progressive rock. SHINING‘s music conjures grim moods, aching wounds and deep emptiness. Napalm Records welcomes one of the darkest, most sinister and original bands in the genre today to their roster.

SHINING mastermind Niklas Kvarforth on the Signing:

“Markus Rödl and I proudly announce today that we have reached an agreement with Napalm Records, who will release our upcoming 11th album in conspiracy with The Sinister Initiative in early 2023. A year in which the world will be force-fed a brand new, and for once suitable horrific stage show capable of visualizing our brand of darkness, new videos by brother Claudio Marino, as well as another thing or two which will inspire as well as disgust.”

Napalm Records A&R Sebastian Münch states:

“Napalm Records is proud and honored to partner with one of the most influential black metal bands in the world. Very few bands understand the core essence of black metal like SHINING does. I am excited to join SHINING with the new album release, to explore and push new creative boundaries.”
